So? What’s your favourite barely and hops infused beverage?
Me? I gotta go with Corona. For some reason, almost every American beer I have tried I hate, too bitter. I like the lighter, less bitter ones. I realize that I am missing out on flavor, but I think it is a worthy sacrifice. I also like Beck’s a lot. But Corona wins, hands down.
I know that you can get some brand of Whitbread around here, although I’m not sure exactly what type. I may have to do some research in the near future.
I’m not one who has a constant favorite beer. My current favorite is Christain Moerlein’s Honey Almond, although I also like Rogue Dead Guy Pale Ale and Abita Turbo Dog. Before that, there was Sam Adams Cream Stout and Newcastle. Who knows what it’ll be tomorrow?
Who wants to spend 8 bucks on a 6 pack? I’ll stick with my Rolling Rock 12 packs for 9$ thank you very much. I’m sure the “fancy” beers are great and all, but I like what I drink and its cheap. Why should I switch? So I can say,“I drink this fine new england lager that I can only get in 2 stores in all of omaha and what you drink is cow piss”? Sorry about that, I’ll go back to my corner now.

For myself, I like Sleeman Honey Brown Lager, Amsterdam Nut Brown Ale or Rickard’s Red (all Canadian brands). On a really hot day, a Corona or Labatt Classic does the trick.
I’m presuming apple cider, like Strongbow, doesn’t count here.
Miller High Life. I tried it at a party and loved it. i then found out that it’s one of the cheapest beers you can buy (7 bucks for a 12 pack!), which shot it to no. 1 on my list.
if price was no issue? then it’s a 3-way tie between Newcastle Brown Ale, Corona, and Young’s Old Nick Barley Wine Style Ale.

I have too many favourites to mention, but there are a few standouts (Creemore Springs Lager and Guinness are among them). I also had a very nice porter from an Ontario microbrewery called Church Key Brewing the other day. Not sure of the name of the porter though.
There are also ones that I will take the time to look for if I’m where they’re available. These would include Fat Tire, Ninety Shilling, Anchor Steam, Seven Seas Ale, and just about anything from the Quidi Vidi and Shaftebury breweries, among others.
Sam Stone, I’ll also add my appreciation for Big Rock Traditional. That’s one I’ll always look for in western Canada–of course, I don’t have to look very hard! I agree; it is great stuff, especially off the tap.
I also like Mackeson Triple Stout… stuff is so thick and dark it doesn’t even poor like water, more like oil. so yummy
and when I splurge I go for something like Corsendonk, sometimes Chimay, sometimes La Chueffe, anything made by old monks is normally pretty good (8 bux a bottle [.75L], but worth it)
Let’s start with the obvious Guinness. Beck’s is pretty good, but I’d rather go with Beck’s Light. It is more of a medium than light. Grolsch is really good too. I drink it sometimes just because of the bottle it comes in. I remember this one time, we got a mini keg of Grolsch… ah memories.
Anything and everything The Saloon at 13th & U NW in Washington serves. God, it’s a little bit of Belgium in DC! I’m particularly fond of Vondel and the Kasteelbier lines. But Urbock 23 kicks 'em all into a cocked hat.
I had one in Chicago at the Hopleaf - 3 Floyds Alpha King, I believe it was called - now that was a tasty beer. I can hardly wait to get back next year and see what they’ve got.
In order to answer your OP, you need to designate a style of beer so I can choose. An overall favorite would be almost impossible to choose.
An easier questions is what do I drink most: Shiner Bock. Mostly because it is the best beer on tap at the bar I frequent and it is reasonably priced in bottles to take home.
My favorite stout: Guinness, of course.
Pils: Pilsner Urquell, naturally. If you’ve never had this on draft, make it one of your goals in life.
Porter (perhaps my favorite style): Flagg Porter when it was available. My homebrewed Chocolate Porter is hard to beat. Sierra Navada’s Porter is good also.
Weiss: This is hard to pick because there are so many good ones, here’s three: Paulaner Hefe-Weizen, Franziskaner Weissbier, Hacker-Pschorr Brau Weisse.
