FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024

I know how you feel. I even wrote a letter in support of one Trump nomination. Judge Thapar to the 6th Circuit. He’s conservative, but smart as hell and principled. I had a few cases in his court when he was a District Court judge. I don’t know how many decent judges Trump appointed, but I’m sure a few got through(and I know he had way more of his share of really bad appointments)

Wearing shoes.

All while ignoring Hunter Biden’s laptop and the “big guy”!

But he thought about rescinding it.

(I see this obvious rejoinder was already made by the Left Hand of Dorkness.)

No kidding! Given the Eleventh Circuit justices no doubt have been following all this as it unfolds and surely could expect an appeal to come to the court, I have to wonder if they had their law clerks digging into precedent cases and first-drafting their analyses even before the formal filings hit their docket. That was a thorough-going and carefully crafted decision that utterly dismantled Cannon’s folly.

Trump gave them top secret clearance using the powers of his thoughts.

I don’t blame you. Here’s how it was said:

After calling NARA a group of radical leftists, he said “There’s also a lot of speculation…were they looking for the Hillary Clinton emails, that were deleted but they are around someplace.” Hannity immediately interrupted him (as he was already moving on to Spygate) and said, “Wait, you’re not saying you had it, dude?”

Only semi-related but funny as hell…

Trump appointed district judge in Minnesota, Eric Tostrud, denies Mike Lindell’s (My Pillow guy) request for a temporary restraining order concerning his cellphone which the FBI recently seized from him in accordance with a search warrant.

Judge Tostrud cites, among other things, Trump v. United States, No. 22-13005, 2022 WL 4366684, at **7–9 (11th Cir. Sept. 21, 2022), which is the partial stay the 11th circuit issued yesterday.

Well, I wouldn’t be too thankful. While these judges are unlikely to help Trump avoid the consequences of his actions on the basis of his absurd legal arguments, they’ll gleefully advance the conservative agenda of overturning decades of jurisprudence on voting rights, civil rights, the administrative state, etc.

Oh, man, is there a clip of this I can watch somewhere? Why isn’t this a meme yet? That’s priceless on several levels.

Ayup.

I think of these people in roughly the same way that I find myself viewing Liz Cheney this year.

There was a link to the clip many posts ago, but this thread is moving so fast that you have to scroll up a good chunk.

To save you the scrolling, here’s another tweet with a clip (bit about Hillary’s emails starts at 1:07):

Ah. Wild stuff, but I’m not sure I hear Hannity saying “dude,” there, but “do …” and being cut off.

“As I understand it.”

“As I fantasized it.” – fixed that for you Mr. ex-President.

Yeah, he was more likely starting to say “did you?” but cut himself off halfway. But hearing it as “dude” makes it more entertaining.

Actually, trump alone moved the boxes themselves using only the power of his mind.

It is fun to joke about TFG saying “declassify by thinking.” But he immediately follows up by saying he can declassify through his actions - i.e., by shipping them to MaL, he did not treat them as classified materials should be treated, therefore he declassified them. Or, for example, he could send them to Putin. No problem, because the act of doing so declassifies them. Totally fucking crazy how this fuckstick’s mind works.

Re: loose Cannon. First off, my impression is that she’s a lousy judge, and that countless more deserving lawyers ought to have her seat. But unqualified persons get made judges all the time. The question is whether or not they grow into their job. And if they don’t, how much harm they do to how many.

This idiot really lacked the experience/qualifications for the job. That doesn’t mean she was in the bag for TFG. More likely, she had no idea how to deal with this situation, and just fucked up. She got slapped down on appeal, and corrected her order. Just saying, she might end up being a not horrible judge 5-10-20 yrs down the road. If not, well, just add her to the not small list of incompetents with lifetime appts to the bench.

I disagree that that is the more likely scenario, but people can disagree.
