What’s the dumbest possible explanation for Trump having taken nuclear secrets with him? Not to sell them, but just to show them off and make him look like a big shot. “Look at these nuclear secrets I got to keep 'cause I was president.”
FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024
I’m still betting on the Secret Service overhearing/seeing something at that Saudi golf tournament 2, 3 weeks ago. Very few people would have the credibility to move a federal court like this, a Secret Service agent definitely qualifies.
Also, don’t forget, the Saudis gave Jared $2 billion. Perhaps the golf tournament was them coming to collect?
Someone told him he wasn’t allowed to take them, and so he took them?
I think you mean Don Henley.
Hornsby, Henley, that’s just the way it is with the boys of summer.
Something to lighten up the mood - but actually right on point. (wild satire)
No you’re right, and I originally typed Don Henley, but the 1st lyric on Bing was attributed to Bruce.
Lazy on my part.
Or (and I’m in hopeful, hopeful territory here), there was verified intelligence that a transfer of these documents by Trump to bad actors was impending.
Although it appears on a Don Henley solo album, The End Of The Innocence was co-written by Henley and Hornsby (and Hornsby plays piano on it).
Still an appropriate song under these dire circumstances.
Although its possible, I think it unlikely that it is actual technical nuclear weapons specs. . Trump is unlikely to have easy access to technical bomb information, sure he’s president so he could request it, but that is going to raise suspicions as to why he needs it, it isn’t as if he could possibly understand them.
Documents about how to give missile launch orders, and strategic nuclear defense plans on the other hand would be something he could easily lay his hands on. As to his plans regarding the documents, it would definitely be within his character to hold them purely for bragging rights. (Hey babe, want to come into my office and see the most top secret national plans?) But if he did get a good offer for them why not?
What’s scary is that what is happening to Trump could happen to any of us selling nuclear secrets.
What’s scary is that he was stupid enough to not know that our military keeps a close watch on documents of that nature.
What’s scarier is that it’s taken this long for this to be dealt with…
Chilling. As smithsb’s linked article points out,
From the Washington Post article:
They did not offer additional details about what type of information the agents were seeking, including whether it involved weapons belonging to the United States or some other nation.
Bolding mine.
I wonder if Trump’s Saudi buddies who are in business with him for the LIV golf crap-ola would be at all interested in information about Israel’s nuclear program? Possibly they’d be willing to pay cash for this. Or perhaps just another $2 billion “investment.” in Trump family scams.
I’d like that fine.
And trump isn’t the victim of a casual accusation. Of course, social media can ruin someone with mere “casual accusations.” But that’s not what’s happening to trump.
(Pssst: it’s sarcasm.)
Too literal-minded for my own good.
“Documents about how to give missile launch orders, and strategic nuclear defense plans on the other hand would be something he could easily lay his hands on”
This.
The most serious offense.
MAD and special weapons have protected us for decades from bad guys. -Even bad guys with similar capability.
Any edge that they get has the potential to change the equation.
It’s risk analysis.
Having said that, make no mistake. I would have fulfilled my duty if called.
