A Redditor theorized expired launch codes. Something like that feels more likely to me somehow.
FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024
Aren’t those switched out daily?
Knowing the length of the code might be useful. And there may be other information regarding procedure included in the record. Pieces of a puzzel that may prove useful, say one day they were able to plant fake ones at some point and call our bluff.
Yes, thus why I said “expired.”
The theory is that having an expired code would make it easier for a foreign power to analyze or fake. If so, it appeals to me because it’s just the kind of thing Trump would think is harmless and keep for bragging rights, ignoring anyone who says differently until the Feds come a-knocking.
This guy needs to go down soon, this week has been hell on my ADHD.
Launch codes are not fixed.
We are smarter than that.
'Sokay, when your teeths hurt, your brain hurts too.
Wow, Trump’s lawyer is just stuttering and offering standard Deflection 101 responses… badly.
A bit late from me, but here are Garland’s full remarks. Gift link.
Launch code: COVFEFE
The chain of custody could theoretically be compromised by those that want to break the system.
The way the orders come down from POTUS all the way to the launch crew. Links can be severed by bad actors that understand the system. This includes domestic threats because some veterans have joined the cult.
Am I getting through here?
This has the potential to be a serious national emergency.
And now it all makes sense!
From WaPo reporter Leigh Ann Caldwell:
Jay Bratt, mentioned upthread, signed the filing, apparently. He’s Chief of this division of Justice. I found the online description interesting:
The Counterintelligence and Export Control Section (CES) supervises the investigation and prosecution of cases affecting national security, foreign relations, and the export of military and strategic commodities and technology. The Section has executive responsibility for authorizing the prosecution of cases under criminal statutes relating to espionage, sabotage, neutrality, and atomic energy. It provides legal advice to U.S. Attorney’s Offices and investigative agencies on all matters within its area of responsibility, which includes 88 federal statutes affecting national security. It also coordinates criminal cases involving the application of the Classified Information Procedures Act. In addition, the Section administers and enforces the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 and related disclosure statutes.
I don’t know that it narrows down our speculation any, but – ISTM – it implies that we’re likely on the right collective track.
Shockingly.
What are the chances Vlad has already gotten everything he wants from those documents?
I have to admit that my instinct tells me this will not end up as… explosive (sorry) as it seems right now, as much as I hope that it is.
Lucy has apparently pulled the football away too many times for me to believe that This Is It.
Not too sure how good Trumps attorney is, she just revealed the ‘family’ watched the FBI search via their security cameras.
Well, can’t wait for the 'planted evidence ’ evidence!
I don’t think that’s going to work.
Somewhere along the way I heard the FBI requested and were given copies of the security camera tapes before they left the property.
They know their target well.
Anyone know the rundown on what a ‘Special Access Program’ is? I mean, better than Wiki?
That was exactly the first thought in my mind when it was reported. Is it enough for treason? I think it might be, but all it takes is one loon on the jury panel to render it moot. We are living in interesting times.
