trump is technically correct, his parents were married.
It still seems overly defensive to me. Like when an alien in disguise is asked, “What are you doing?” They respond, “I am doing completely normal human things, fellow earthling.”

it is an add awkward phrase that is rather unnecessary if you are indeed a legitimate person. rather like capone saying he was a ligitimate business man.
Perhaps he meant “literate.” He knows all the best words, after all.

I’ve long lived by the maxim, a close cousin of “Every accusation is a confession,” that “You can’t go wrong assuming every single word out of his mouth is the opposite of the truth.” In this case, it’s a confession that even he acknowledges his illegitimacy.
Like his “perfect” phone calls asking for more votes in Georgia, or asking Ukraine for dirt on Joe Biden. All he’s done is break laws his entire life, and he’s trying to imitate what a law-abiding citizen would say.
