Agreed. I am pinning my hopes on the idea that the breaking point is when President Biden is reelected with a minimum 51 seat Senate majority and a majority in the House. Call me a dreamer.
And now I will drop this since we are veering into hijack territory.
I suspect that it consists of about 30 minutes of incriminating evidence showing that Nauta put the classified documents where the FBI found them, with about 1099 days 23 hours and 30 minutes of boring but important evidence showing that no one else came in and added them to the box. If the don’t include this then it leaves them open to the “The FBI/Biden/Chinese agents planted it to frame me!” excuse.
I’m not sure which thread to put this in; but since it mentions Florida, I’m posting it here. It’s about one attorney’s assessment of Trump’s mental state and how it makes it hard for Trump’s legal team.
Asked by DeVega about the former president’s “inability to remain quiet” where he continues to “incriminate himself,” [CNN legal analyst Norm] Eisen bluntly stated that, in his opinion, Trump is “not a well man.” …
He then added, “…but he does have a disorder of some kind as manifested by how he cannot stop talking even when it implicates him.”
The article also says that Trump’s inability to shut up may taint the jury pool in Florida, though Trump’s self-incrimination may be too much for Trump-supporting juriy members to overlook.
(Now I have a Ramones song going through my head…)
I’ve got CNN on in the background. Just now, they interrupted a newscast to state that they have just learned a this defendant has been added in the documents case: a maintenance worker named Carlos-something.
Watch news sources. There is nothing on CNN’s web page yet, but I’m sure there will be soon.
“The former president is charged with one additional count of willful retention of National Defense Information.”
“The superseding indictment also charges Trump, his aides Carlos De Oliveira and Walt Nauta with two new obstruction counts stemming from allegations that they attempted to delete surveillance camera footage last summer at Mar-a-Lago.”
