FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024

I would presume a conviction is a conviction, if it was obtained via plea deal or trial.

Wait. Let me see if I’ve learned anything along the way:

“The passports were planted there BY the FBI and the pictures were Photoshopped !”

How’d I do ?

Medically, that’s called pane on urination.

(Or maybe its reverse)

We also would have accepted, “The name on the “passport” is “Donald Trump”; I don’t even know any one named “Donald Trump”!”

But he’s heard bad things about him.

That the passports were taken sort of blows up the planted-evidence story, unless Trump is suggesting the FBI secretly stole the passports in advance so they could be salted into the other material for some reason.

What exactly is a diplomatic passport and when can it be used? I assume it is meant to be used when on official government business and not when you hop to Cancun for a long weekend?

Agent Orange clearly retained his regular US passport, probably two (you are allowed to have a second passport if you travel a lot so that you can have one passport to use while the other is sent away for a visa, or if you visit countries unfriendly to each other to keep visas/entry stamps separate so that Israel doesn’t know you have recently been to an Arab country or vice-versa). His travel is in no way restricted.

Still wondering about stopping to refuel the flying Trumpmobile in event of him fleeing - is an airport required to provide you with fuel if you land there?

The privileged information claims blow up the the planted information claims. How could the FBI plant privileged information?

Logical consistency is not something that this crowd requires.

Well, you can find stories about some airlines being refused refueling,so “No”, I guess?

ETA: you can also find such stories in which the airline just owes too much money, so they are refused service:

Presumably the planted information has been mixed in with the privileged and magically declassified information.

Handy reference:

Is it legal? —> Privileged!
Is it classified? —> Declassified and definitely legal!
Is it declassified but also illegal? —> Planted!

Right up until the trap door opens and the rope snaps taut – metaphorically, of course.

That’s pretty easy, actually. Just tape classified papers to the agents and slip them among the various documents. I don’t believe that’s what happened, but it would be pretty easy to do.

Um… what?

Where does the privileged information come in? You don’t mention it at all.

Yeah, I’m not sure what I meant. I think I confused “privileged” with “confidential.” Ignore me!

I believe that all former Presidents are given diplomatic passports as in theory they continue to be ambassadors of US democracy after leaving office.

It also allows them to enjoy extra security perks that you would want former Presidents to have to avoid them being targeted and messed with.

Quick and dirty, a pity your original was not in higher resolution, I am too lazy to blur the added parts:

You have to click on the image to see it in full, Imgur preview gets cropped in this board.

“I read somewhere” that DT first learned of the expired passports having been been taken when the DOJ returned them.

This makes sense. And THEN he blurbled on about how they took his (expired) passports.

You can get around the cropping by first opening the picture in a new tab. I think.

My wife used to have one because her father had a high-level military job with diplomatic duties and she was still technically a dependent. It was black, and the main perks she said were that they couldn’t search your bags at airports (checked or carry-on), which meant getting through security a lot faster.

If she used this privilege in any particularly exciting way, I am unaware of it.
