FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024

The new lawyer mentioned about 1/2 way thru, Alina Habba, is probably a graduate.

Has anyone ever actually graduated from Trump University?

It wasn’t a school, it was a real estate training program done as 3 or 5 day seminars.

So, if you paid their ridiculous fees and stayed through all of the blather you could say you “graduated”, the same way a person might graduate from the School of Hard Knocks.

Alex Jones’ dumbshit lawyer might be looking for work.

The cash retainer would take awhile to verify that none of the bills were counterfeit.

I remember this revisionist baloney sandwich. It made the case that Al Haig was “Deep Throat” and he had his own agenda for undermining Nixon. They basically accused Dean of using the old “Officer, officer, I saw the whole thing!” ploy to mask his involvement in the break-in.

That would be ironic, wouldn’t it: Trump having to hire Jones’ lawyer after Jones throws Trump under the bus in favor of DeSantis.

I would think any decent attorney would stay clear of this “opportunity”, what with how this particular client is known for stiffing people in his employ. Also, look how things turned out for Colludy Giuliani, once known as “America’s mayor” and 9-11 hero, and now a disgraced laughing stock. Why would any sane lawyer sign-on for that?

Better Call Saul.

He did. Saul won’t return his calls.

Moderating:

These comments were flagged last night. I did have an instant negative response to them, but I felt that might be due to my personal, visceral revulsion to Trump. So I thought about it for awhile and then solicited input from other moderators before deciding on a course.

I can think of no reason to make these comments except to demonstrate that someone notices the use of the term, “get him off,” can have more than one meaning. The comments are sexist, gross, gratuitous and contribute nothing of value to the thread. We have numerous threads in the Pit designed for just such comments. This thread isn’t it. Knock it off.

No warnings issued.

I don’t believe that Trump should be above the law just because there are a lot of Trump fans. YMMV.

If DOJ can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump violated the espionage act, or any other law, they should indict him, try him, and do everything they are legally allowed to do to convict him.

I think that (especially the ‘you’ll end up with a lot of angry (violent) people’ argument) is even more reason to take this to the full extent of the law. People clearly need a gentle reminder that there’s more to be correct than just being the loudest. Facts aren’t facts simply because you can flood the internet/fox with tweets. You’re not acquitted based on the size of the mob willing to fight about it. You don’t get to ignore the law because you convinced some yokels that you’re the subject of a witch hunt.

If that was the case, there wouldn’t be any need for trials. If you can get enough people to scare the judge, jury, witnesses, lawyers etc, you win, otherwise, right to jail.

I found it amusing, especially when responding to Trump’s claims that he just “took work home with him”.

“Like if you get fired from your babysitting job, but you still go pick up the kid from school… That’s just kidnapping!”

This does appear to be the strategy here.

And I agree entirely with the rest of your post - well said.

ABC News reported yesterday that Kash Patel, a former Trump aide, shared his plans to retrieve classified documents from the National Archives and publish them on his website. He appears to think these documents prove Trump’s innocence in “Russiagate”, both impeachment hearings, and January 6, and Hunter Biden’s guilt in…something. He also claims that Trump directed him to retrieve these documents.

Just Security dives into the implications of this, namely that the DOJ could use this as demonstrating intent to disseminate classified material.

Several federal criminal statutes make it illegal to remove, retain, or exercise gross negligence in storing government documents. However, the more serious crimes include deliberately planning to transmit classified or other highly sensitive materials to the public.

“Who is Kash Patel? I never heard of this person. He must have acted alone. I never gave him any directions, but bless him for trying to do the right thing.”

So, this person was instructed to acquire documentation that supports TFG suppositions, and may have sticky-fingered a few other more highly classified (and valuable) documents in the process? Got it!

‘Wait , Cash app Patel? I didn’t hire him ,I invested in it! There isn’t a bigger cash app then Patel! The biggerest!’
TDJT

Catsup.

“Now that I am now officially a representative for Donald Trump at the National Archives, I’m going to march down there — I’ve never told anyone this, because it just happened, and I’m going to identify every single document that they blocked from being declassified at the National Archives and we are going to start putting that information out next week.”

And what happens when they tell him to fuck off?
