I missed many portions of this episode due to interruptions, so I was wondering how it ended.
Did anyone watch?
The PI turns out to have accidentally shot his brother as a kid which made him an evil asshole. The woman who hired him turned out to be the brother of the guy that we see the PI killing at the start of the show. She set him up in the house where she had tried to kill herself with 3 guys.
At the end the PI is standing over the woman with a gun but decides to not kill her. His buddy walks in, the woman calls out for help and the PI gets himself shot.
That episode was a waste of my evening.
You’re talking about the wrong episode. That was last week’s episode, not the one on last night. I actually liked the episode last night. Well-acted and a nice unexpected ending.

I was a bit confused…and then I remembered that I had missed last week’s.
So how did the one from last night end?
Last night’s episode was a basic body tranference story – a decent family man (Dennis) and a serial killer (Brautigan) switched bodies when both were being treated at a hospital at the same time. Of course Dennis (inside Brautigan’s body) is put behind bars and can’t convince anyone that he’s not really the killer. He even calls his family to warn them about the killer in the house, but to no avail. In the meantime, Brautigan (inside Dennis’ body) is making hay as the dad and husband in his “new” family. Leaving out the details … Dennis escapes and makes it to his home to confront Brautigan. There’s a big fight. The cop arrives, shoots and kills Dennis (still inside Brautigan’s body). Next thing you see is Dennis (now inside his own body) regaining consciousness. Hallelujah, he’s back in his own body! Now he frantically looks for his family. Bad news. His wife has been murdered, so’s his son. Only his daughter is still breathing. Here’s the twist … (stop reading if you don’t want to know) … the cop asks the daughter who did the murders. Slowly she opened her eyes and then pointed at Dennis! Fade to black.
