I used the compliments(or the insults the way some people chose to take them) as an example of why the Jews are God’s chosen people. I understand y’all think they could be taken as insults but that is how some people want to take them. But if it really bother y’all to get compliments, I will try to be more careful about complimenting you.
Secondly, the reason the Jews have been persecuted John C is that God allows that to happen to them when they start going their own way and away from God’s plan. Read the Old Testament it is all there. They would be faithful to God for a while then He would bless them they would rebel later and curses happened upon them. And I am not saying this only happens to Jews. Christians mess up too and start doing their own thing(look at me for example lots of bad things have been happening in my life lately) and God lets things happen to them to get their attention and focus back on the right way of living.

Very good post and thank you for it. But I never said that God chose y’all because y’all were smart(other than you knew that he was the true God that should be worshipped). I know He chose you because y’all chose Him. I am just saying he bestowed His blessing of talents and wisdom to y’all for doing such. Does that make sense? I mean remember all the wisdom that he bestowed on Solomon?
I fear Bill that you’ll only step in it again if you attempt to place any characterization upon a whole group of people.
Consider this:
A. I tell Fenris that I love his sense of humor, he seems bright and witty.
B. I say to Fenris you know, Jewish men are so witty and bright, I just love your sense of humor.
Which one is a compliment? hmmmm???
