After many challenges, my daughter graduated from high school yesterday, and earned herself a couple of scholarships which will completely pay for tuition, books and fees for two years at community college, and a fair portion of state college tuition after that.
Leaving the office after a really rough day and a man walked by me holding his small daughter. As they passed I waved at her and she waved right back and said bye bye in a happy little baby voice! The dad was so surprised that he turned back to see who she was talking to and we all three cracked up.
It really is the little things I guess
I rode my scooter beside my scooting bud on the way to work and back home. The sun was shining each way, and I loved looking over at him while we were riding down the road, together.
That made me smile this morning! Congratulations to her and you.
Thank you!
I love that joke!
This totally sounds like an average weekend day when I was working in the public library. Weirdness makes the job more fun to work.
Can I mention to you briefly that I love your strangely angled tub? I wonder if one can acquire a tub like that these days…
Little kids can be really cute; we had a little boy cheerfully say “Hi!” at us the other day when we were in the Goodwill.
My Friday was spent flying cross country from Anaheim back to Myrtle Beach.
I got home around 11:44pm, and saw my 5 year old son for the first time since Tuesday.
That made me smile.
That makes me smile, too! Congrats!
I’m smiling because my POS 25 year old beat up convertible truck (beloved because it hauls me and my kayak to all the places I enjoy) stalled in the middle of traffic and stranded me. While wearing a sundress and sandals. In 90 degree weather. With a dangerous, fast moving thunderstorm about ½ mile away and bearing down fast. With no money for a tow and no one nearby to call for a ride. I kicked off the sandals, popped the hood, climbed up on the bumper, leaned over the gnarly 302 guts, pried the clips off the air filter housing, squirted started fluid in. 3 times. It roared to life. Made it home safely. ![]()
My daughter had her first swimming lesson today. She was grinning and laughing the whole time she was in the water, and it was awesome to watch.
Watching seals playing 70 feet off the shore, with the family, including the above-mentioned high school graduate.
My daughter got her first stripe at karate class and is SO stinkin’ proud (and should be!) and it looks like nice weather for my son’s backyard birthday party tomorrow, and I have a beer and a cupcake.
