You people call yourselves lonely?? Brothers an’ sisters, guys an’ gals – real lonely is when you’re facin’ another forty, maybe fifty years of the stuff with no reprieve. An’ I’m not talkin’ prison, here. Just my lot in life.
Any of you callin’ yourselves lonely on this here board – it’s just a rough patch, for you. A spot where SO’s ain’t there for a while. Or you’re between SO’s. Time cruises on, you’ll get over it.
I hate Valentines Day, Christmas and Easter 'cause everyone else I know has families they need to be with. Easter’s coming up. Bummer. Here, they have two days where everything shuts down tight, and I’ll be on my own.
THAT’S lonely.

But you’re right – at least I can post to the Board. And over Easter, I’ll work on the local history I’m doing (it’s on the Net! This I’m thrilled about! And it wouldn’t interest ANY of you – dear posters – 'cause you’re not where I’m at! So I can’t brag! Damn!), and keep an eye on the SDMB.
Life, though, has it’s moments – nay, log days – of suck-ness.

I find myself lonely quite often… I am never actually alone, but I should would liek to have a girlfriend or something to do stuff with reguarly… I miss love…

Euty, we’ve not had much reason to cross paths since I’ve been here, so let me say up front that I’m a fan. I read your posts and admire your class and intelligence, wit and wisdom. I’m not “sucking up to the mod”, not intentionally, anyway.
No, the reason I’m saying this is to explain my absolute certainty that you’ll not be lonely for long. No-one with that much character does.
You obviously have many friends here. I know your lonliness is more for a companion than friends, so just lean fully on them until what you yearn for comes to pass. Friends cushion the blows life throws.
You have much more wisdom than I, so why am I saying things that I’m sure you already know to be true?
I dunno… voice of experience, I guess. Someone who’s been there and come out the other side. Who am I to try to preach to a preacher?
