FEMA concentration camps?

In regards to the alleged Concentration camp at K.I. Sawyer AFB in Upper Michigan. As a Marquette resident, I was there recently. Not only is it home to the Marquette County Airport, it is also home to many private homes, a golf course, a saw mill, and several other businesses. If you’d like to rent a townhouse there, you can contact these people http://www.portup.com/~macasu/
Maybe I’ll start a travel agency offering concentration camp tours.

As for the alleged prison at Kinchoele. Duh. It’s a state prison! (I found the camp locations at http://www.mumia.org/wwwboard/messages/2038.html

I dunno… by 1800 Europe was just suffering through the Napoleonic Wars… bloody battles, seiges, thousands dying, etc. Not mention Napoleon was a megalomaniac who invaded Russia. Pogroms against the Jews were certainly nothing new in the patchwork quilt of states that was 1800 Germany. I think a German from 1800 would find Hitler all too likely.

Yeah, but they said it’s off I-80 on U.S. 6. That intersection is in (or just outside, I can’t remember) of Morris; Marseilles is a fair bit west of there. I assure you that, by any reasonable definition of ‘boondocks’, this is it. (Or rather, Seneca is-I’ve never actually been to Marseilles, but it’s only a few miles farther downriver.)

While there is a fair bit of barge traffic, there are also a lot of wooded stretches along the Illinois through there-I can imagine commercial traffic not noticing a prison camp. Still, it does seem pretty far fetched.

I expect to be up that way next month, visiting my parents in Oswego. Maybe I’ll take a little country drive-down Ridge Road to Minooka, I-80 to Morris, U.S. 6 to Ottawa, then up U.S. 71 back home. I’ll take pictures if I see anything suspicious. And if you never hear from me again, check with FEMA.

Erm, I mean State Route 71. Brain fart.

Just a few things to add:

  1. Cart/horse reversal dept: can someone point me to the alleged legislation that supposedly gives FEMA the authority to declare martial law, independently of any local or national elected officials?

  2. Re: Camp Hill, PA: I visit Camp Hill several times a year (my brother lives there) and I was on the grounds of the New Cumberland Army Depot last summer (there’s a nice golf course there). I can state with certainty that there is no concentration camp in the area.

Good question. Folks who allege this stuff usually chalk it up to executive orders. Here is a website with the actual texts of these documents. Here is a website with these executive orders reinterpreted by people who think they give the executive branch lots of nasty powers.

I hope nobody’s hair will turn they find out that the two are not the same. EO 11000 does not “provide for the mobilization of all civilians into work brigades” … 10995 does not “provide for the takeover of communications media”. I couldn’t find the full text of EO 11613 but it’s hard for me to believe it declared a state of emergency in 1973 since NARA describes it as “Membership of Environmental Protection Agency on Established River Basin Commissions” and puts the date of promulgation two years less one day earlier (no Executive Orders came out on 8/1/73 as alleged by Flyingdisk).

Anyway, I didn’t want anyone to think that the texts of these EOs were secret or hard to find or anything. They are public; they are easy to find; they are bland as hell.

OK, thanks for the links. To take just one example, EO 10997 not only does not “provide for the takeover of all electric, power (sic), petroleum, gas and minerals”, one paragraph states this:

Finally, the executive orders I sampled were signed by John F. Kennedy in 1962. Gotta say the New World Order doesn’t seem in any hurry to take over the world ;).

I should have added that the Fort Richardson Army Reserve is within the Anchorage city limits, with plenty of room for a camp in a restricted-access area. There is still no railroad access to the east (unless there’s a tunnel under a major highway), though the train does pass thru Ft. Rich and Elmendorf AFB to the north of the city.

Now the only problem for FEMA is the heavy air traffic in this region, which would easily spot a secret camp.
