"I think you’re right about control versus free fall but once we go down there, there is not guarantee that we can all make it back up. If we tie together and walk around the edge we can support those who slip and fall because one person couldn’t drag all of us down.
I really don’t like the idea of descending into the unknown abyss without a way out or knowing what’s below us. Any one else got an opinion?"
“Brunis why don’t you lower our fair scribe over the edge, hopefully his flair for words will be able to describe what he sees. I’ll hold on to the rope around you so you don’t go over the edge while you’re lowering him.”
“You know… next time we pass dose Mushshoomies, I vant to try to put them into my bag, but this time without cutting them- maybee if I used mine axe to break up the ground around it, and then pulled dem out slowly, I could have the whole intact mushroomies! I must do that when we pass by another one of dems! Bork bork bork!”
OK, you bypass the mushrooms in the bat cave and head down the right corridor. You all manage to get down the drop and into the next chamber. It’s kind of a tight for six people. Eren is tied off, he takes a torch, and he’s lowered down the hole. Chunks of rock are loosened underneath him and fall into the hole. This is not strong ground.
All you see down there is rubble, and it’s about 15 or 20 feet down.
Cella, you think you see something moving in one of the unexplored tunnels.
Something is definitely moving on the other side of the hole. The torch light barely reaches it, so you can’t really make it out. Whatever it is is small, but it doesn’t move like a child. It’s much swifter.
