Field of Daisies (a Harnic RPG)

Get me the f out of here and maybe I’ll be able to make something out.

“I haf a baaad feeling about this… Bork bork bork?” Ingmar starts helping to pull on the Rope too, wishing he had those Mushroomies right about now.

Eren is getting pulled out.

It soon becomes clear that there are two of the things. They look small, maybe 24" tall, and bipedal, but definitly not human. They almost move like birds.

Do any of us have any familiarity with creatures like this, practical, literary, or otherwise?

No.

I’ll get behind the fighters, then. They’re approaching us?

One is coming around the right side of the hole, the other around the left.

They’re odd looking things. Their forelimbs are tiny claws, their hindlimbs are bigger claws. They have thick tails and long beaks. They are hairless except for the backs of their heads.

All right, well, weapons out, everyone. I’ve got the torch, which is just as well. If I can get a good stab in on an otherwise occupied little monster I’ll take it, but for the most part I’ll try to stay disengaged.

Who is on the ends? For that matter, where is everyone standing, from left to right?

I’ve just been pulled out of the hole by Brunis, who was being held by Symon. Cella’s probably next to me. Ingmar’s all the way on the other end.

So it’s probably like:

         Brunis Symon
Hole Eren
         Cella
         Gered
         Ingmar

Or something like that depending on how the mechanics of helping me out of the hole needed to work.

That does put the strongest fighters on the ends.

I’ll try to help Eren out of the hole as best I can, but I’ll be careful not to fall or slip myself.

Are these things overtly hostile? Do they show any fear of fire? “Hold out the torch towards them!”

Why, look at how that worked out! I hadn’t noticed!

That’s right. Hold me tight.

They are definitely moving with purpose, and towards you. It’s not like they’re just passing through on the way to the market. But they’re not getting that close to you. Yet.

They occasionally make vocalizations. It’s almost like they’re talking to each other.

So they might possess some intelligence.

This can be a good thing…or bad.

I remind everyone not to attack unless we know for certain they’re a threat to us. I don’t think the chances are very good that they’re going to invite us for tea or anything, but if we can avoid blooshed, particularly mine, I’m all in favor of it.

Ingmar slowly steadies his ax into his hand and his shield. Perhaps we can be makink our way away from them? They are in the hole, no? Can they be comink up to get us up here?
Can they fly?

Be they Lizards, perhaps?

They are, I believe, coming at us from around the hole.
Sound like dinosaurs more like anything else.

I doubt we’ll be able to communicate with them, and they have to be looked at as hostile at this point.

Of course, if they can communicate and they’re hostile, they can - theoretically - go get friends.

I’m in favor of taking them down if they approach us, and following them if they don’t.

Ingmar will try to copy their chittering noises and coo at them.
“Perhaps they are friendly and will help us, no? Here… lizzy lizzy lizzy… Say hello to the nice Toymakink Man. You want to be friends, no? Good lizzy lizzy lizzy…” He then tries to chitter and make their sounds… All while Readying his Axe. Ingmar may SEEM innocent and playful, but he’s no dummy!
