Definitely try to unstick and move forward to engage.
Isn’t Ingmar already down the chimney?
Definitely try to unstick and move forward to engage.
Isn’t Ingmar already down the chimney?
I’ll stay with the boy, to try to protect him and also to keep him from panicking and leaving the group. I’ll jump down next to last. Let’s send the boy down before me, if he looks like he’ll have trouble we can give a hand.
Let’s not forget that we’re being trailed by somebody who must know these caves better than we do. Ingmar’s hurt, but we need him for the fight. I think the boy should come through with at least a couple of us behind him.
Meanwhile, I’ll ready myself to try to take some kind of support role with Symon. How heavy is the chest? If I can wield that like a club I might try to crush the thing with it, or protect my own face if it jumps at me. If I can’t manage that then I’ll stick with the dagger and try to help Symon close in on it.
Your dagger is by far your best bet. The chest is awkward and not really designed for combat. It’s surprisingly light though. It seems like it only has one item in it.
Ingmar is at the bottom of the chimney, but hasn’t gone through the hole yet.
Let’s begin the next round.
Eren, the creature lunges at you next. It aims for your face with a strike that is deadly, yet woefully misplaced. It’s bites your foot, not in a serious way, but enough to knock you off of your feet – and close to the sinkhole. Your only move is to get back up this round.
Symon attempts to connect and misses.
Brunis, you unstuck yourself and are through.
Gered, you are through.
This leave Cella, Ingmar, and Kial.
Straight to the creature with the sword. (The sword has better stats than the axe, right?)
An axe is actually better. A short sword will only do…
…Just enough. You killed it.
Well, there’s that then.
I don’t want to call myself a hero, kicking it in the mouth like that…
“Cella can you heal Ingmar while we are waiting for the others to come through and I take the rope arround again?”
Symon is going to head halfway (I think that was where the easy way out was and not the cliff and small tunnel) around the cave with the rope to help everyone else cross safely. Sticking to the cave wall to minimize his chances of slipping
I assume we’ll get everyone into the room and regroup.
Gered has been fortunate to not get hurt yet, so he’s willing to either take front or rear guard if necessary.
If you want. Don’t forget the someone or something behind you. I’m not sure how you want to deal with that.
I’ll heal Ingmar as soon as it’s safe to do so.
You pray. You in fact send up an almighty prayer that’s got 'em singing and dancing in the pews.
As it turns out Ingmar wasn’t terribly injured after all. There’s just a superficial scrape. It produced a fair amount of blood, though!
Do I hear or sense anything coming toward us, once things have quieted down?
Yes, you hear footsteps in the passageway you just left. It sounds like the person(?) is trying to be stealthy but failing miserably.
Have we got a good place up ahead to set up an ambush? Like a doorway close to the cave opening that Ingmar and I can stand on either side of while everyone else takes the torches and the sound of movement forward?
“Let’s move out. The longer we’re in here, the more time there is for something to happen.”
Alrighty! Ingmar is back and bringing up the rear with his axe. He’ll try to ensure the boy survives first and foremost, but will assist with setting an ambush on the outside of the cave while the others get out.
Gets axe out. Because, um, uh, for some reason it just seems weightier.
It just cuts better. In terms of game mechanics, it does 6 points of edge damage as opposed to a shortsword’s 4. But you’re almost twice as skilled with the sword.
Anyway, are you guys doing the rope trick to get back to tunnel D and then to the bat/mushroom cave?
The following footsteps have to come through that narrow crawlspace as far as we know, right? I think a great place to set up would be just on the other side of that space (same as the dinosaur did to us).
There are two ways out of here, the narrow crawlspace and wider, easier one.
