Film: Pauly Shore is Dead

I just got my copy of Garden State that I pre-ordered from amazon.com and in the case, there was a little pamphlet with a $5 rebate offer if you bought two DVDs of either Garden State, Napoleon Dynamite, or Pauly Shore is Dead. Having never heard of the last, I googled it and found out that it looks halfway interesting. Anyone seen it? Is it any good?

Link to its synopsis for anyone unfamiliar with it.

I thought you had turned into the Eve Golden of crappy comic actors. Don’t lead us on like that, 'kay? My pleasure center can’t bear the disappointment.

I saw the thread title, and for a moment I felt bizarrely, unexepctedly sad. Which is cool, because now I’ve already done my Pauly-Shore-grief, and when he dies for real I can just go “feh.”

Did anyone have him in the Death Pool?

No, nobody picked Pauly Shore.

Damn. There’s goes my happy new year.

Be careful with those thread titles, Aesiron. It’s not nice to get people’s hopes up like that.

He’s not dead – he’s just frozen until the 1000th anniversary gala of Jury Duty II.

Me too. I was all ready to tell my mom about it.

That title is a bit misleading…Heh.

Title changed to avoid future misconceptions…

Sorry 'bout that, Dex.

Didn’t work.

Anyways, Napoleon Dynamite was friggin hilarious in a dorky kind of way. I’ll go against the hoard of Pauly Shore fans here and opt for Napoleon. :}

Yeah, now the title suggests there’s going to be a link to video of Pauly Shore’s death.

It just keeps getting weirder.

For those of you joining us just now, Pauly Shore has been shot. Let’s take a look . . .

Mmm… Vince Vaughn…

What a freakin’ let-down.

Aes, you suck!

Looks like I’m the only one who wasn’t fooled. I haven’t seen the film but I did know about it, seen posters and such. It seems that the DVD release will be the first opportunity most people will have to see it. It never played more than a handful of theaters, and by special engagement only.

What I’ve entered the Thread to add is that The Comedy Store has a gigantic sign painted on the outside wall, visible to passing traffic, which reads:

My Son Is Not Dead

Apparently Mitzi* was tired of all the misunderstandings (or should that be “mitzunderstandings?”).

*Mitzi Shore, Pauly’s mother and owner of The Comedy Store.

You know the proverb that says curiosity kills the cat? I envy the cat.

I just finished watching this movie about three hours ago since curiosity overpowered my (obviously limited) logic and reason and I’m still twitching from the experience. Even Jury Duty was better than this and I didn’t think that was possible.

I can’t remember if I followed through on adding this to my queue, but if I did, it sounds like I should click the ol’ delete box.
