In interviews I’ve seen with Trump supporters, a thread of anger and fear united them all. They were angry about foreigners and quaking in their boots about terrorism. They all responded to the simple bullshit that Trump was doling out, and had no idea what any of his real policies were-just that he was going to build a wall, and get the terrorists. It would be a waste to argue with these people, as anger and fear are blinding, and Trump’s policies are either paper-thin or they’ve only been articulated off the cuff at a rally.
Perfect example of the cult of personality putting forth a callow and unqualified candidate.
My problem with Trump is that he has no practical experience in public service. He says he loves his native New York City, well then why didnt he ever run for mayor or city council or state rep or something.
I mean the basic premise of his tv show “The Apprentice” was that a person would have to work their way up by completing several tasks before they would get the big job. Yet Trump himself is walking in and expecting the big job from the get go.

Ask the investors he bankrupted if he produced “great things”. Ask the students at his business school - the ones accusing him of fraud for taking their money and delivering virtually nothing - if he’s someone we should believe in. Look at his campaign - everytime he’s been caught in a lie or an error, he simply doubles down. Any bad press is the fault of the media, never him. The buck stops everywhere but with the Donald, because The Donald can do no wrong in his own eyes.
And what will he do as president? Who knows? He’s going to “build a wall ad get Mexico to pay for it”. Do you believe that will happen? Seriously? He’s going to entice American companies back home. Maybe he could start by no longer having the products with his name on them (such as his clothing line) manufactured in China. He’s going to “get tough on jihadis”. You know who’s been tough on jihadis? Obama, who has been quietly drone-striking the bejeezus out of them (and, unfortunately, a number of other people). Trump’s approach has been shown to make more jihadis. But at least he talks the talk, right? It doesn’t matter what the results are as long as you get to shout “WOOHOO! USA! USA!” at the end of it.
No, Trump will antagonize our allies, give strength to our enemies, alienate Congress, further polarize the country, accomplish very little of worth, get a lot of American soldiers killed and quite possibly destroy the economy. America will be far from great. But at the end of it he’ll be fine, and that’s all that really matters, right?

I was listening to the radio today to see if school was canceled, and I overheard the dumbest argument for Trump I think I’ve heard.
They said he’s saying all the things Reagan said. Reagan never gave any specifics about what he could do. And then he said “So why not give Trump a chance?”
And he was not being sarcastic in the slightest.
