Finally! Some sense has arrived in the Patterson home.

See today’s For Better or Worse.

Finally! Michael’s standing up to his bitch of a mother-in-law.

Now if he would only stand up to his conniving, manipulating, and selfish wife. I guess that’s what’s going to be the issue in tomorrow’s strip! Apparently, there wasn’t enough room in today’s strip for another panel where Michael could’ve said to the wife, “Like hell I’ll apologize. That bitch had it coming to her.”

Oh, I’m sure she could have a fit a “Go to hell” in there. A shame she didn’t.

I agree, Ino. What would’ve been cool would’ve been for Michael to say, “By the way, you old hag, you’ve been so hateful to your own daughter that we had to keep our marriage secret from you so that YOU could see your dream wedding since you don’t give a good damn about anyone’s happiness other than your own.”

And then turn to the wife and say, “And you, you’re damn lucky that’s my daughter. You had better never again pull a stunt like that again. Marriage is a partnership–between YOU and ME, not between that old hag and you.”

Yeah, I know. That last one’s not so pithy. Can you clean it up, make it more spiffy?

I can’t stand Deanne’s mother, Mira! Not even Mira’s husband can stand her.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but during the wedding preperations (which we got to see Mira at her worst), didn’t she want to refuse to let Lawrence be best-man because he was gay?

She’s even worse than Marie Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond.

I’m waiting for a time when Deanne stands up to her mother and they become estranged.

If I was Michael, I would’ve called my pal Lawrence, out myself in front of everyone and take off together for Ibiza.

Who needs this shit?

“And you, Deanna, you ain’t all that!” snap snap

No, no.

“Bitch, get in the kitchen and make me some pie!”

There, that’s much better.

[sub]and it’s lno, not Ino[/sub]

Hey! I think you’re being really harsh on Deanna, she obviously has a huge bitch of a mother, and wants to try to keep the peace. She should have “stood by her man” so to speak, but she’s being put in a very difficult situation.

Now Mira, on the other hand, can “Step off bitch! F* you with a pointed broomstick!”

If either my mother or lno’s mother turns into a “Mira” (chances of that happening are slim), I think we’re moving to a foreign country where one needs a visa to get in as a visitor AND we’re putting them on the governmental shit list so that a visa is never issued.

(Why do I now think of getting back at nasty people by screwing them through an immigration and/or visa process? HA!)

Well, well. Mike finally grew a pair. Good for him. I don’t keep up with the strip much anymore, but it’s about damn time somebody told that nosy old biddy to butt out. Yes, she threw a fit about the timing of the wedding, about Lawrence taking part in a church ceremony, and any number of other things.

For some reason, my mind has always read Mira’s dialogue in a voice that’s a mix of Maria Barone and Sheila Bravlovski. I went back and read the previous strips before reading today’s, and I even expected today’s strip to start with “What what WHAT!?”

I would just tactically nuke the damn place.

that’s not good enough.

Sorry about the misspelling of your name, lno.

I don’t think Mike wants his wife to be the traditional homebody; however, I do think Deanna’s not all that. & She’s certainly a conniving manipulating bitch. Too bad she manipulated him intead of Mira.

And Mira’s even more bitchy in today’s strip.
