Carnivorousplant, as to the story thread, please remember rule #7 and don’t make consecutive posts, but instead let someone else have a turn before you post again. Also, the species which the Franklin is going to see is spelled “Pelleri.”
it’s okay Elendil, I don’t mind. I couldnt think of anything, and it seems to be mostly just the two of us who are posting
Will do.

Just came back from the first vacation in years. I will read and try to jump in soon…
Help! I am being held prisoner…
Do we know what the tech level of Pelleri is?
[Jack Fisher]Nova fisted?!? Why, you…![/Jack Fisher]

Nope, although presumably warp-capable, given the Prime Directive.
I see the spelling for Commander as “Comm”. I thought it should be “Cmdr”. Am I getting the wrong rank?
I suggest spelling out “Commander” if referred to without a name, and abbreviated “Cmdr.” if immediately followed by a name, such as “Cmdr. Riker.” Similarly:
Ens.
Lt. JG
Lt.
Lt. Cmdr.
Cmdr.
Capt.
I believe a Lt. Commander is addressed as “Commander”, but then Trek changes some things, like the definition of Commodore.
What happens if the Romulans contact a non warp civilization first? Perhaps the populance has dilythium crystals lying about like gravel, or hungry green women wandering about with cardboard signs that say, “Will perform sex acts for food”.
True, “Commander” is sometimes used as a shorter courtesy title for a lieutenant commander.
If the Romulans get there first, a Starfleet officer might - might! - argue that all bets are off, Prime Directive-wise. As for the hungry green women, don’t tell Admiral Kirk (wherever he may be at this point of Trek history).
carnivourousplant, you had Gul Sheket think to himself
I was thinking HRH could mean “Her Royal Highness” too.
- So are you proceeding with establishing Collins as Pelleri royalty, or as the telepathic assassin, or both?
- Having traveled on a Ferenghi passport, are we to assume that Aycharaych can disguise him/herself as humanoid?
We had some spacial anomalies introduced and succinctly evaded them. Did anyone intend to pursue those and is now stewing because their plotline was summarily shitcanned?
Neither, Sheket was just wondering WTF Xiang meant with “HRH” as was I.
He’s not an assasin, he gathers information.
No, he’s avian. I would think that selling passports without requiring information about the user would be a great way to make money.
I intended that Gull Sheket is a good guy, in that he spoke the truth to Collins and T’Parel about his mission. I have no objection to the spatial anomalies. And the escape pod can hold one guy! Quit with the "how many people can get into a Volksvagen Beetle schtick all ready!
Sorry, I’m dense. I read “espionage business” and heard “assassin”. I also thought “appeared…with a Ferenghi passport” meant appeared disguised as a Ferenghi. So he/she could just be traveling under a Ferenghi issued passport disquised as an avian of a species more known/common in the Federation.
But now I’m confused about "Quit with the “how many people can get into a Volksvagen Beetle schtick all ready!”
I was just wondeing if someone had another storyline to play and I wasn’t connecting it in anyway whatsoever with the pod. I really didn’t even think of it opening and a million Daleks pouring out until you mentioned this schtick.
I conceived the pod to look something like Star Wars, just large enough to hold one person, with a little hatch, and it grew pneumatic doors, a platoons of security folks charged in.
If they do, I don’t mind at all if the Gul cools his heels in the brig for a while.
Glad you mentioned it in time for me to cut out the bit about the waterslide.
btw - Corner Case, in case you were still wondering, Lt Cmdr Jeremie Collins (female) is not now nor has she ever been a telepathic assasin. She is a humanoid from Sigma Iotia, the civilization that likes to mimic Earth (remember “A Piece Of The Action” from TOS? Well, they found the tricorder Kirk (or was it McCoy) left behind, and sure enough, within 3 generations, they were mimicking the Federation to a T - Jeremie grew up surrounded by all things Starfleet, so she applied and was accepted to the (real) Acedemy at age 13)
addendum:
She’s not actually 100% Sigma Iotian; her grandparents moved there and her father married a native. So yeah, she’s definitely half Irish - just to keep continuity
And I meant 2 generations, not 3 :smack:
I like what I’m reading so far. Good to see more people “coming aboard.”
BTW, it’s spelled “Ferengi.” Carry on.
How many times do I have to tell you guys, it’s an alternate translation of Ferenghi script? You obviously bought the low cost dictionary from the Ferenghi Languaghe Instithute.
