By the way, while I do appreciate this, I would like to add that not all of the anti-Israel brigade are racists, I’d actually wager that the number of hardcore anti-Semites in their ranks is somewhat small. Some like Ivan and Sevastopol are undeniably Jew-hating racists. Others like Dick Dastardly, for example, praised Hezbollah’s leadership even when it was shown that they were dedicated to genocide and were proudly racist. He may simply be an ignorant partisan shill (and honestly, reading most of his posts reinforces that impression for me), but it’s also a bit worrisome to see someone saying “Hezbollah (peace be unto them)” and “Nashrallah (peace be unto him)”.
It’s a bit like someone saying “the Ku Klux Klan (may they ever prosper)” and “Louis Farrakhan (may he always be well)”. There’s a possibility that person isn’t a racist but… well, it’s not much of one. I do find it distressing that the anti-Israel crowd doesn’t police its own and in threads like that they prefer to personally snipe at me than take the time to call out their own coterie. In the thread that spawned this, for example, Sevastopol (again) argued for the murder of any settlers who by his definition all committed “theft”, which he generally describes as conquering an area and them moving into it. And of course, with his traditional deceptiveness, he talks only about “settlers” when he’s gone on record as saying that all of Israel itself is illegitimate and thus a product of ‘theft’, and thus fair game for killing. Just as he’d opinined that Iran should have nukes in case it should want to “liquidate” Israel, that it’s totally normal to want to destroy Judaism by fire, and so on. I pointed out that his own logic would mean that all Muslims in the area should be killed, since they conquered the area and then settled into it. And that showed both how abhorrent his logic was and how it was a rationalization for his murderous hatred.
Lucy, rather than taking Sevastopol to task for suggesting that all the settlers (or Israelis, whichever) should be murdered, absurdly came to Sevastopol’s defense. When I pointed out that it was a very, very simple syllogism that allowed me to point out the logical conclusion of Sevastopol’s own words, Lucy shut up and didn’t retract his comments. It’s that sort of behavior that tends to demonstrate to me that some folks really are more interested in making a debate about me than the issue, and aren’t at all willing to acknowledge their own mistakes if they get in the way of giving me a hard time.
Ah well, I’ve come to expect as much.

Finn can be somewhat avid and excitable, true, but those he argues against are equally avid and excitable, and significantly less-well-informed. I’m glad he acts the way he acts - if he didn’t, I’d have to.

When what’s arrayed against is me incoherent, dishonest spluttering like the OP, or snarky willful ignorance like Lucy’s ‘contributions’, or lies about how I always support Israel no matter what, or that I’m such a zealoty mczealot that although I’m clearly wrong my arguments can’t be shown to be factually incorrect or logically fallacious… or that the quality of my writing is bad, weird, or craaaaaaaaaazy?
Well, I know that even my most adamant detractors can’t touch my factual arguments or show that my logic is fallacious, and they’re reduced to impotent sputtering.

Just for the record, prior to this thread, I’d never even communicated with a jew, other than my optician - who incidentally, seems a very nice chap.
Fortunately, he didn’t want to regale me with long-winded accounts of why teh jooz r teh greatest, while testing my eyes, so I’m not sure if he’d be just as much of an annoying twat as Finn Again, in larger doses.
I wouldn’t hate him though… I’d probably just change my optician.
