Firefox Android plug-in problem.

I’m having problems with my plug-ins for Firefox on Android v52 (latest one.) I have one plug-in called “Save Page” that has always stopped working each time I restart Firefox so that I have to deactivate/activate it to get it working again. Noting crucial, but mildly annoying. But now I’ve started having problems with my ad blocker plug-ins. I had Ublock Origins working for months until it stopped working entirely, I finally uninstalled it and installed Ad Aware. Until after a while it stopped loading. I uninstalled Ad Aware (not just deactivated it, but really uninstalled) and redownload and reinstalled Ad Aware again and Ublock again, had both of them working for a while. Then both of those quit loading. So I tired downloading even different ad blockers, Adblock 57+ and Adguard Adblocker. So now I have 4 ad blocker plug-ins and not a single one of them will load.

Any clues how I can fix this? Could there be some type of adware or malware forcing Firefox to disable ad blocking? Unfortunately neither Firefox nor the ad blockers have much in the way of options for tweaking. And I’m getting unsavory ads from here–twice I’ve got one that would start a beeping alarm on my phone and a pop-up page telling me that I may already be infected with whatever. (Sadly, I do not trust the ads that show up on SD to not infect my phone with something.)

Sorry, not sure about the plugins, but if all else fails, give Adguard for Android (different from the FF extension) a try. It works as a local VPN on your phone and blocks ads in all apps (including Chrome, for what it’s worth):

Totally worth the purchase, IMO.

The latest version is Firefox 56. I can’t tell you for sure, but that may be why your extensions are failing: they’re being designed for the latest version.

I do note that Firefox 56 requires Android 4.1 (Jellybean) or greater. But you should still be able to upgrade to Firefox 55 if you don’t have that. And if addons are breaking on that, look into installing earlier versions.

Thanks, upgrading to 56 has my plug-ins working again (for now.) I thought that 52 was the latest because when I clicked on “check for updates”, it would tell me that there aren’t any. I suppose it was looking only for point upgrades to 52?
