Firefox setup questions

I recently downloaded Firefox at work, and it has a couple of annoying quirks that I didn’t remember from when I did it at home some time back.

  1. It keeps popping up something at the top to tell me that I need to update my plugins. Is there a way to disable this popping up? I looked at the options, and I didn’t see anything there.

  2. There is one tiny thing that IE does that I like better than Firefox: when I close IE, it re-sets the Favorites list so that all the sub-lists are closed. Firefox doesn’t do that. Can it be made to do that?

for updates

Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Updates

uncheck for addons

The only thing I see on Tools>Options>Advanced>Updates is a checkbox for “warn me if this will disable any of my addons.” I don’t see anything to stop checking for addon updates.

Or are you referring to the radio button for Automatically install updates? That doesn’t seem to be what I want.

my version on this computer isn’t current. i don’t have more recent version up at the moment.
