Firefox typically doesn't display graphics

Just installed Firefox and notice that it doesn’t display many graphics found at MSNBC, USAToday, CNN, and many financial sites.

Is this par for course, or is it likely a setting on my PC?

IE displays 100 percent correctly, even if it’s vulnerable.

Check [ Tools | Options | Content ] and make sure the “Load Images” is checked.

And make sure you haven’t blocked any sites. I had this problem once and realized I had inadverently blocked photobucket.

“Content” is “Web Features” in the latest version. In addition to the above, make sure the subcategory, “for the originating website only” is unchecked. If those sites store their images at a separate URL, having this checked will stop them from loading. The feature is meant to stop third-party ad banners, but it can sometimes catch legitimate offsite images.

I had a problem similar to this once. In an effort to get rid of some blinking adds I had blocked stuff from some akamai machines. A lot of big site like cnn spread there load by putting some common graphics on akamai machines spread about the world.

Got it working. I had to enable Java script. I believe this is potentially dangerous, but isn’t it necessary if I want to have all photos load?
