First Annual SDMB Fantasy Football Guillotine League - Cecil’s Chopping Block

“You hear that, Elizabeth? I’m coming to join you, honey!”

Looks like I’m going to survive the Falcons deactivating Drake London Sunday morning after attaching no injury designation for the game beforehand.

Well, fellas, it’s been a fun ride. Getting zero points from my newly-acquired tight end did me in this week.

Good luck to all of you the rest of the way. I’ll be an interested observer.

And already looking forward to next year!

I feel like I got a call from the governor. Great week, Railer - that was a nailbiter. I was positive Rice not getting that rushing TD was going to be the final nail for me.

Yep, if Gray catches that pass on the last drive and scores, I probably hang on. Instead Rice scores and that was my final nail.

Just thinking about what could have been had I made it to this week with Saquon and Cook.

I wonder what player has been cut the most for being on the losing team? I’m way too lazy to look…

Things are getting weird and these sorts of things crack me up:

Drake London: Winning Offer $225, second offer $7
Amon-Ra St. Brown: Winning Offer: $220, second offer $3
Patrick Mahomes: Winning offer $131, no other offer

Wide receiver has been a really weak position for me so far. Half my free agency budget has gone to shoring the position up, but it’s netted the #5 and #7 wide receivers for the stretch. As long as Kittle doesn’t die, I like this team. Seems like I always have a couple players ready to go off each week. But yeah, I didn’t want to risk scrambling for a receiver. There aren’t points for money in the bank, and it’s crunch time.

Definitely funny, but worth every penny this week.

Of course, after not playing for 6-7 weeks, Brock Bowers, who was on my roster, played today and had 37 points.

Can’t believe nobody picked him up.

Welp, it’s not looking good for me. It is appropriate that an injury to a Packer and an inexplicable goose egg from a Bear ends my domination.

It is a great reminder about the vagaries of fantasy football. It’s a week to week league. Guillotine leagues just mean you cant have a bad week.

More importantly, injuries and trusting a Bear need to be avoided at all costs to win it all.

You’ve got a very outside chance of catching Munch if Lamb goes off and Pickens doesn’t, but it’s not looking good.

If you do get chopped, the remaining FABs are $0, $3, $88 and $424. Yours Truly Doctor Zoeller is going to be able to get whoever he wants…

Speaking of, who is the owner of Yours Truly Doctor Zoeller?

Looks like that waiver period slipped by without much notice…

Huh, I didn’t think I’d get all of my top choices - guess our mystery owner with the huge budget missed the waiver window this week.

The #1 and #3 scoring RBs go for $4 and the #5 WR goes for $3.

Boy I feel even worse about Guillotine leagues now.

There was no real reason for me to bid more than $4 - Munch had $3 left, Cheeseheads $0, and Yours Truly had over $400 (I had $80 something). Definitely the math changes at this point!

So I was bored at work today, and I checked to see who had been dropped the most. If I did it right, I only included the forced drops from teams being chopped.

Five players have been chopped three times:
Saquon Barkley
Emeka Egbuka
DeVonta Smith
Rico Dowdle
Jordan Love

22 have been chopped twice.

Cheeseheads needs 12.9 points from Josh Jacobs tonight to stay alive, otherwise Doc Zoeller avoids the axe.

Should be interesting!

At Lambeau, below freezing temperatures, it should be a lock.

GET IT TOGETHER GREEN BAY!
