About as mundane and pointless as it comes. Tonight I was out in the pasture feeding the horses and saw the first firefly (or lightning bug) of the year. Long live summer!

Where are you? I don’t usually see them until June.
Wow, I haven’t seen a firefly for years. Ah, memories of youth.
Auntie Pam - I’m in Tennessee, about 50 miles outside of Nashville.
Alpine - We always get tons of them. Do they not live in CO?

I certainly have never seen them since the ol’ summer days in NJ.
Saw the first one here night before last. The horses had already been fed, but I was out in the pasture communing with them.
Fireflies are one of the things I miss most from Maryland.
Although they live in a few places in Arizona, the deserts aren’t one of them.
We had a flock (swarm?, glow?) of them show up about 10 days ago. They were pretty scarce in the city, but here a mere 10 miles away, we get tons every spring. I love me some lightning bugs.
And here I was all excited about more western/sci fi tv.
We had our first single digit temperature morning (9C) a few days ago. Roll on autumn and winter.
Gotta see one of those before I die–I live in the Pacific Northwest, generally, and grew up in BC and the Northwest Territories. We just don’t have fireflies here. They sound so magical. I envy you!
We went camping a few summers ago and saw tons of the little guys; first ones I had seen in years.
