I hope the next zombie movies are more interesting than this one - it felt like it took about five hours to watch.
The rush to find a cure was because THOSE PEOPLE were going to turn, and they kinda didn’t want to. They had incompletely sealed the facility (left vents open, IIRC), and they were slowly turning. Their rush to a cure was purely selfish in nature, and they were willing to kill survivors to do it. Mary Woronov didn’t agree with this, so she drugged Samantha instead of killing her, shot the other ‘think tank’ guy, wrote up some notes for Hector, and offed herself.
Great line from the movie:
Hector: “Think tank, huh? Think this over.” Gives the middle finger, then blows up their cars.
Chakotey met up with a space “think tank” on Voyager. I really wanted him to repeat this line, but he didn’t, even though there was a scene with him shooting them with a torpedo that would have been a great fit for it.
Catherine Mary Stewart was gorgeous. Just stunning. Should have been bigger than she was. Probably still very attractive. Younger sister was very cute, but got kind of weird-looking later. It’s subjective, of course.
How about The Return of the Living Dead next?
I’d like to note that the original Night of the Living Dead is now in the public domain, so it should be easy for everyone to find a copy.
Loved this movie in the 80s - one of those movies you always stopped to watch when it was on. I always remember the boyfriend (don’t recall his real name) is the same guy who was the jerk boyfirend in Valley Girl, and he also played “Buck” in the Kill Bill movies.
