Two of my favourite things in the world give me shocking heartburn, enough to wake me in the middle of the night to hurl my guts up. It’s just not fair.
BUT, I do have some handy-dandy meds nowadays…provided I remember to take them before I eat fish or chocolate I should be fine. Tonight’s menu is home-made Thai fishcakes, with a dessert of FERRERO ROCHE CHOCOLATE. I think I might need to take a handful of the pills though to allay the inevitable.
A few things give me blinding heartburn, fortunately without the vomiting. The causes are more specific - sausage rolls, doughnuts and champagne. The last two are easy to avoid but I love sausage rolls. I don’t know what sausage rolls and doughnuts have in common but among all the bakery goods on earth they are the only culprits.
Yep, champers I can get, but sausage rolls/doughnuts? That’s weird indeed.
Mind you, I’ve historically been able to eat fish and chocolate with gay abandon up until about 5yrs ago (when I made the connection between ‘what I ate’ and ‘upchucking in the dunny at 3am’). Yeah, weird and not fair at all.
