I live north of Boston, and “This car climbed Mt. Washington” bumper stickers are easily the most common.
Also, in the number 2 & 3 spots would be Obama bumper stickers and various marathon stickers - “26.2” or “13.1” or (less commonly) “6.66”
The last two are almost super-local to northern Essex County, MA…
Woodman’sbumper stickers (a local clam shack on steroids; they claim to have invented the “fried clam”)
Lastly, Nick’s Famous Roast Beef. Nick’s has a pretty cool cult-like following; literally hundreds and hundreds of people take Nick’s bumper stickers with them when they travel, and have their pictures taken in front of landmarks while holding up the bumper sticker. The restaurant itself has all the pictures on the walls. Really odd, but neat. It’s worth taking a look at the linked web site.
Visualize Whirled Peas seems to be popular around here.

Agreed, thank gosh.
Cross the border and head south, and people seem to think that their car is a sensible place to tell the world about their special-snowflake views. Really tacky.
Maybe about 5% of cars here (rough estimate) have bumper stickers, and the majority of those are safety-related stickers on a company vehicle. Think “This Vehicle Makes Frequent Stops” or “Slow Down and Leave Room for Us to Work,” etc.
The peak may be 6288, but the maximum road elevation is 6145. ![]()
The road through Bear Tooth might be a better one, but it’s 'leven-thousand switchbacks up and 'leven-thousand switchbacks down. We once joked that it takes a tank of gas to go about fifteen miles on the map there.

Vikings (various) with (oddly enough) Packers running a close second
What do you call an Obama sticker on a Prius? Redundant.
We’re more about front windshields that say things like ‘Too Blessed to be Stressed’ or ‘First Lady’ or ‘Highly Favoured’.
Bumper stickers are not a big thing:
A cartoon character pissing on Nissan
My kid’s at whatever college
Relax - Jesus … something or the other
If you can read this …
Rear number plate frames:
My mum ‘That’s a pretty frame’.
Me: "It’s two naked ladies, mum’
I had an ancient fridge in Peace Corps that had been handed down from volunteer to volunteer for decades with an “I CLOSED WOLSKI’S” across the front.
I see those in St Martin a lot during vacation. Is it a caribbean thing?
They really are everywhere. It’s not uncommon to spot them out of state. I mean, I personally wouldn’t expect to see one if I were on vacation, but with so many people and so many cameras and social media, the bar gets pictures of them on their FB page from time to time when some random patron will spot one ‘in the wild’.
Not a bumper sticker, per se, but I’m seeing more and more lettered “In memoriam” proclamations on the back window of vehicles.
To each their own but when I die, please don’t do that!
In the West, you often see In N Out Burger bumper stickers, many of which have been edited with a razor blade to read “In N Out urge”…
(I never understood the mania for their good, but not exceptional roadburgers. But part of the construction of each site involved installing a 24-hour-a-day line of cars in the drive-through.)
I remember someone here making a comment along the lines of “what’s ‘in loving memory’ of your dead kid…your car?”
Billboards aren’t allowed in Vermont – does that help make up for it?
Local high school sports
College (usually in-state)
OBX circle (everyone goes to the same vacation spot I guess?)
26.2/13.1 circle
I can’t really think of a 5th one. I was out today and made a point to look around and you really don’t see too many bumper stickers. Maybe we have a lot of leasers around.
I like the local WTF stickers.
No, it’s not that, it’s Wild Turkey Federation (actually National WTF, but the National is in small letters at the top).
…that’s an “M.”
