If the QB had said: “I can’t stand America, I don’t like anything about it, I’m not standing up when you play that song.” I might have invited him to look for another place to live.
Instead, he said “Cops in this country are killing Black people, and facing no consequences. I will stage this protest to shine a light on this issue.”
So at least the guy has a good reason. It does not bother me in the least. The knee jerk reaction by hyper/pretend patriots is what is odd about this.

As far as the flags go, I think the banning was sound. They were to be used to taunt the opposing team with a high Hispanic makeup. This would be as if to say “we’re Americans and you aren’t, neener neener neener!”

No. That’s not what I said and not my position. I respect someone’s right to not stand or even burn the flag. My position is that you shouldn’t have a problem with others waving the country’s flag. If you do, you’re a douchebag and you should find a place more to you’re liking.

Waving the flag? Nah. Using it to insult and deride an opponent, based on their ethnicity? The flag was banned for ONE game, based on a history of using it to taunt this specific opponent. Zero problems with that. Be a fuckhead on your own, don’t drag my nation’s flag into your petty bullshit.

You know what we did to guys like that back in the old days? We put 'em in the Hall of Fame, that’s what.

when are you progressives gonna accept that every country and societies minorities face discrimination? Its a lot worse in many countries outside America.

That aside, fact is America gave ingrate Kaepernick a chance to be a sports star. How about them black footballers in Europe? The same Europe which colonized a continent, the same Europe where a non-white can’t go on the field without tons of racist chants being yelled? The same Europe where there are NGOs dedicated to fighting racism in sport, whereas in America, white America accepts that blacks dominate football and basketball, two of America’s most popular sports, do pretty damn well in baseball, also one of America’s popular sports, and made much bigger strides in traditionally “white sports” like gymnastics and swimming?

Kaepernick just wants attention and knows he can get the SJWs up in arms to defend his unpatriotic ways and ingratitude.

Minorities should be grateful for the moderate levels of injustice we suffer here because minorities in other countries suffer worse? Should women shut up and feel lucky that we don’t let their husbands beat them with a stick that is thinner than his thumb? We’re America, we’re better than that. Everything about American exceptionalism is based on the fact that we at least try to be better than that.

You obviously agree the Hispanic students are somehow not citizens by your claim they should get out.

No, citizen or not, if you are taunted by the flag, then go find a place more to your liking. Now if they are illegal, then yes, they can leave ASAP. But here’s an idea, and a way to have the stunt backfire on the flag-waving students if it was really being done to taunt. Fly the American flag right back at them. That would have worked beautifully.

Yes, a wall is a simple thing to build. We’ve had lots of practice over the millenia. And yet, somehow, no matter how tall or thick the wall is, somehow, someone invariably manages to get through, over, under or around it.

So perhaps, in a world that is more connected than it has ever been, we should not be looking to stone age solutions to solve modern age problems.

Well, Trump himself has already admitted to the one weakness of the proposed structure. So the best of today’s technology seems to be no match for, “maybe a rope”.

Look. Give it up. Amusing as it would be to see a monument built to Trump’s (and company’s) stupidity, the cost of a few miles of a wall pays for a drone. If he (and you) didn’t have the mental capacity of a mollusk, we’d be discussing the merits of border patrols with actual “best of today’s technology”, not cement.
