Florida substitute teacher fired, accused of "wizardry"

I was expecting something else…

As for the how a sub should act discussion, at my school nice subs are sought after. Though we’re generally a well behaved bunch in general (from testimony from teachers; advanced schools they taught at such as ours have a lower volume of delinquints, almost by definition) you can tell we definately listen to the friendly, funny teachers more.

One of the subs si so sought after I’m not entirely certain he doesn’t need his own secretary to sort out all the subbing requests he gets. Whenever he sees me or a couple of my friends he’ll even go “oh, great! You guys again!” We even “assassinated” him once when he was subbing our class and he played along (after the lesson for the day was done). Generally teachers like this we respect and listen to, and ones that treat us like idiots or dirt, or dismiss anything we try to connect with them on aren’t as well recieved. We still listen and do as told, but there’s an air of reluctance and you can just generally feel the quality and atmosphere of the class drop when they come in.

I just imagine the principal, wearing a hat made of aluminum foil to keep the martians from reading his thoughts, saying this to the teacher.

Re: Peninsulas, some time ago there was a comedian with a bit comparing the Florida peninsula to Maine’s. The size difference is due to colder water up there. Somehow they managed to insinuate that (elder) President Bush’s unit was like Maine’s.

Can’t find it on youtube, though. :frowning:

I just realized that I should probably stop using my favorite answer to the common question, “How do you know my name?” (Kids always assume that a sub doesn’t know their names, and they freak out when they find out that I do). I usually answer, “I’m psychic”.
