FSM-ism a hot topic at religious meeting.
What’s next, ecumenical conferences? Pastafarian retreats?
It’s gotta be competitive with Scientology.

There was quite an impressive turnout on the UK census for Jedi as a religion:
‘The 2001 census reveals that 390,000 people across England and Wales are devoted followers of the Jedi “faith” made famous by the blockbuster films.
Census officials bowed to pressure after a massive internet campaign to include Jedi on the list of chosen religions.’
From the Article: “Lucas Johnston, the third Florida student, argues the Flying Spaghetti Monsterism exhibits at least some of the traits of a traditional religion…”
Oh no… the reason I became a Pastafarian was because it wasn’t a “real” religion. Now what am I going to do?
First Post. Long-time lurker. Will be processing my paid membership soon. Hi Opal!
Gnocciology?
Pastabyterians?
Church of Jesus Christ of the Linguini Day Saints?
Macaroniodists?

Welcome to the Dope.
If FSM gets the trappings of religion, you can always retreat to the IPU. No one treats her serious.
Jim
May his noodly appendage touch you where you live.
No, no. As the page states, adherents call themselves “Pastafarians.”
RAmen.
I’m converting from being a Pastafarian to being a follower of the IPU.
Because the IPU has niftier car emblems
Ooh, can I count you as my first convert, I get extra non-existent bonus points if you tell them I referred you.
As long as it’s not inappropriate touching, I’m good with it.

That’s pretty cool. I’m quite amused by the pictures of little Lego figures having sex:

I also like the good reverend’s parental ratings for the various stories. Cain & Abel, for example, gets the whole gamut of NSVC, for nudity, sexual content, violence, and cursing.
In this case, the cursing is the sort of curse that God puts on other people.
I was thinking of the FSM and Pastafarianism recently because I was reading that Michael Eisner, who now owns Topps, wants to make Bazooka Joe “the next Mickey Mouse” by making cartoons and such featuring the character. Since he has an eyepatch, Bazooka Joe is obviously a pirate. Eisner is not trying to make money- he’s trying to stop global warming.
