Font Size?

Is it possible to change the font size for reading purposes? I.m getting kinda tired of squinting to see posts.

If it’s just on occasional webpages, hitting control + (or going to the View menu, and selecting Larger Font) will work. If you want to resize the default font for all the pages you read, go to your Options or Preferences (depending on your browser) and you should be able to find a font size option. Just reset to the size you want.

thanks, mnemosyne. not a perfect solution but MUCH better.

If you start using Mozilla, you can set it so your mouse wheel changes the size of text on any page.

Holding CTRL and scrolling the mouse wheel will change the font size in IE.

Control + doesn’t do anything for me, strangely enough…

The wheel thing, and in fact the menu-driven font option, too, works only on pages which have no fixed font size or face coded into them. If the creator of the page has specified a fixed font, that will override local browser settings and force you to view the page as the author has set it up. Unfortunately this seems to be the case on the SDMB now; it wasn’t in the previous installation. I run my monitor at a pretty high resolution, so the font size is rather small. Plus, I’m old and going blind.

At least that’s how it works with Windows’ IE. Can’t say with any certainty how other browsers handle it.

Using Firefox (Mozilla) I can alter the font size using ctrl-and the scroll wheel.
