Food commercial skeeving me out: "Food you want to fork"

I avoid commercials, but am stuck during sporting events like the Olympics.

Have you seen the ad for Devour frozen meals? Some dude talking dirty to his bacon, cheese and potato lunch, to the point where he spanks it with his fork? And when some other dude sees him and says “Did you just spank your food?” And the guy replies Yes, and the question asker goes “all right!” or something. And then close with the tagline “Food you want to…” and then show a fork full of the coronary casserole.

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with the people making ads like this?!

Well, the Devour chicken enchiladas are pretty darn good.

The sausage & cheese pesto ravioli is a bit watery, and the lasagna alfredo is too greasy for my taste.

Can’t argue the point, but damn. I wouldn’t buy the stuff on general principle but I’m not their target audience.

My gf works in advertising. She is constantly frustrated by clients whose only concern is that their ad “goes viral”.
