your favorite commercial

Mine favorites are the orkin ones with the giant bugs(yeah my car broke down a couple of blocks over and I was wondering if I could borrow your phone and… is that oak?) they just kill me. Also the windows 7 ads are pretty good once I figured out the internal reenactment thing. Plus the contact lens people with the overdramatic dramatizations (MY Braaanndd):stuck_out_tongue: are hilarious. Any others that y’all like?

For some reason, those over the top Old Spice ads with that ripped black dude crack me up. I also get a laugh out of the dog food ad that ends like a Viagra ad, with the two dogs sitting in washtubs.

Dos Equis-The Most Interesting Man in the World. "His mother has a tattoo that reads… ‘Son’ ".

The series with the guy ruining little kids’ days using banking rules.

The Baskin Robbins ads with the guy saying:

“Ice cream and cake, do the ice cream and cake!” (or something similar-- I can’t tell exactly what he’s saying)

This is my favorite of those.

This french commercial is pretty good, too.

My all-time favorite (which I recently posted in another thread) is this one.

A Norwegian cheese ad, of all things. Anyone who is or has been a teacher will recognize the situation.

Right now, I’m loving the Pemco Insurance ad campaign. Enough so that I’m thinking of switching insurance next time it comes up.

Oh, and here it is.

My favorites are this one for Nextel and this one for M&M’s.

One of my favorite commercials of all time I only saw once, in the early- to mid-nineties, and I can’t even remember the product it was shilling. At any rate, it consisted of: a man in his bedroom getting dressed. While doing this, he was singing (or humming) a classical opera piece that, I’m sure everybody’s heard a blue million times, but since I’m no authority on opera or classical music, I’m not sure which one (it’s the one that goes “dum-dum-dum-DUM-da-dum, dum-dum-dum-DUM-da-dum”–that helps, right?). Anyway, as he’s doing this, he pulls up his jeans, zips them up, fastens them… then continues singing/humming, only now in the trilling voice of a soprano. Pretty clever. This is pretty much my YouTube Holy Grail right now. If I ever find it, I shall be able to expire a happy, happy man.

I like the snickers diva commercials, where there is a whiny guy in the back seat who appears to be a famous diva until he eats a snickers… and he pops back into his real self. I like that one.

I also like the snickers commercial with Betty White and Abe Vigoda.

And the Old Spice commercial with the cut black guy who’s six-pack opens up and says “AB- DOMINALS!”

cracks me up every time

The best ever is the going-back-to-school Staples commercial, with overjoyed dad (“they’re going baaaaack!”) and glum kids, set to “Its the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”. Dude, I’ve been there, and YES, it WAS the most wonderful time of the year!

I’m quite fond of the new Dunkin Donuts coffee where the copy machine is going nuts, and a guy and a woman are watching the mayhem, and she takes a sip and says, “I’m going in”. I love that! (it’s also sort of a joke around Casa Sali, whenever there’s a FUBAR in progress, I’ve always liked to gird up my loins and announce “I’m going in”, too.)

The Orkan man ones always makes me laugh.

I like the series of Jimmy Dean commercials with the Sun working in an office. They’re just kind of peaceful and sweet.

Have you seen Staples’ other back-to-school commercial?

Oh yes, too bad they don’t show it more often in late August.

I too like the Jimmy Dean Sun commercials. The rainbow eats the breakfast, turns all colorful, and a leprechaun runs in with a pot full of gold - love that one, they are all so cute.

I have to say I also love the Swiffer commercials. The rejected broom, falling in love with a variety of inanimate objects!

I also love “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” Makes me very happy.

But I think my all-time favorite might be the fast food ad (from Wendy’s, I think,) from approx. the late 80s, with the Eastern Bloc fashion show. To this day, when shopping for clothes, a particularly dowdy item will be held up and proclaimed “Svimvear!” That was some funny stuff!

We do that too! “Evening Vear” (waves flashlight).

Ever? Probably this one.
