I wouldn’t doubt it.
Liberrys are officially closed around here, along with skools, daycares, gyms, movies, entertainment facilities, sports, parks & trails, & now bars are closed & restaurants can be takeout or delivery only. Even the state stores will be officially shutting down on Tues.
In short, & don’t take this the wrong way, be grateful for 25 hrs.
It may not have been a dream. Did you celebrate properly on Friday?
Yestidy moaning, in response to an email that I got on Firday, I got some free food. The skool district decided to distribute the perishables that would otherwise go to waste during the next (at least) two weeks - fruit, veggies, milk, etc. Came home with two bags worth. Then some neighbors were out back, ended up having an impromptu three (then four) house party in the back yard. Given the little kids, some form of wiffleball was played for a long time. Then some R/C cars came out. Everyone fed themselves. Sometime after noon*, beers came out. My contribution to the party was firewood for the pit once it got dark. It was some I had ::gasp:: purchased. I’m glad I used it there as it was piney wood, which is not good to burn in a fireplace.
We’re not lushes, & we’re not alcoholics, either. What’s the difference between a drunk & an alcoholic?
Well, my beekeeping group is cancelled until further notice. Good. I enjoy it, but the average age is about 70+, I’m the token youngster (much like in here ) so I was a bit worried, as it was my turn to do the refreshments this week. I work in one college and study in another in what is probably a high-virus-risk place, and until they call the college off, I’ve kinda got to be there. Lotsa chances of picking stuff up.
I’m not really worried about myself, I’m in a very low risk group, but I don’t wanna be Typhoid Mary…
Oh, and dinner was a sweet potato and chickpea coconut curry. Not bad, but I think I overdid the cinnamon a tad.
It’s been a week.
Yoshi-pup on Thursday night vomited until he was vomiting blood. At 1:30 Friday morning, I took him to the emergency pill. They gave him medicine to stop the vomiting and did an x-ray. He’s been eating dirt. :smack:
Friday I had tests looking for CSF leaks and MS. Spinal taps are so much fun.
Saturday Yoshi-pup partially de-gloved a toe. Back to the emergency vet, where he got so many stitches to re-attach his skin. He’s in a splint to keep him from flexing it and moving it around. He hates the splint. He’s quite certain his leg should bend and it won’t. He had the cone of shame yesterday, but it freaked Akiko out and he hated it. At 1:30am he hadn’t stop crying, so I gave in and removed it. Today we’re braving the world outside to get him an inflatable collar. I hope that goes better.
Tomorrow I’m supposed to have another back procedure. I’m thinking of postponing it. I’ll be flat on my back for days (mandatory). The timing seems bad.
It has finally started to rain here. Lots of snow up in the Sierra, which we needed. Fingers crossed and wood knocked that we’ll hold off drought this year.
Hugs and best wishes to all.
This is the last day for food porn. Give it up folks!! Tell me what you’re eating!!
KFC catered lunch here. Very nice treat.
I’ll have no visitors for a while. Too hard to get in.
DIL was bringing me clean clothes and taking the dirty ones home to wash. Not sure how we’ll do that now. I’ll ask the Senior RN tomorrow.
I’m feeling pretty good. Sure wish I was home, tho’
It sounds like everything is closing. I’m sorry y’all are having to deal with this.
Have a great Sunday.
Howdy all. Slept in, worked on my Sudoku’s and made myself presentable and went to 5 Guys to use up a couple of gift cards. Then stopped at Target and wonder of wonders, they had toilet paper (albeit very little and restricted to 1 item apiece), tissue, and chicken noodle soup, so all my mid-month shopping needs are met. Gas prices are down to $1.98/gallon, so probably need to fill up sometime in the next couple of days.
Nothing much planned, have three books to read and some more puzzles to solve, so with rain forecast over the next 72 hours, it is a good time to self-quarantine.
Sunny, hope Yoshi-pup starts behaving better, diet-wise…and good wishes on the back work, whenever it takes place.
Nut, you are not the ‘token youngster’. If you haven’t noticed, a fair number of us may be older than you, but I would debate if we’ve ‘grown up’ beyond you (growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional).
I have two bottles of loperamide (generic imodium) and I carry a little pill bottle with some in it everywhere I go. Yup. I lead an exciting life.
I had most of a bottle of 91% upstairs (I use it to clean my model train tracks) so I traded it for Wifey’s bottle of 70%.
I will go to nearby grocery store today for mocha mix and I’ll look for it there, but we prolly have enough.
Dont be too sure about that … in a lot of places the official view is if you trap them all they do is neuter them and then bring them back… because its beneficial to have a few running around for various reasons
Well disaster has struck… the aunt hemmed and hawed around enough and never actually went shopping properly and were out of stuff including toilet paper …and despite me personally counting how much meat we had … were almost outta that also
but that’s the fault of almost out the door cousin who thinks we should feed her and her boyfriend whenever they’ve blown too much money on pot and whatever else their heart desired … so she just takes what she wants
of course, it doesn’t help her golden child doesn’t remember or just doesn’t want to bother to tell us he’s going shopping so she can tag along… or even remember she asked him to pick up a few things for us along the way …

sunny, is there any way that you could rig a pool noodle into a collar for Yoshi-pup? It could serve to limit his access to his ouchie toe.
I went to the pharmacy for my prescription (they won’t deliver insulin) and had to go in (this CVS is inside Tar-jay with no drive thru). I went in, right back out and was home within a half hour. I even had a parking space right up front  That just ain’t normal for Sunday after church.
I took Nelson for a walk along the airbase trail again. He got to sniff butts with a couple of other dogs along the way and give kisses to a couple of little kids. I figure with each dog on a five foot leash, the humans involved were at a safe distance. The greenway is seeing a lot more traffic with the parks (and everything else) being closed.
becks, supper was quinoa stuffed bell peppers in a southwestern style (I have ideas of changes for the next time that involve more zip and cheese, but not a bad vegetarian main dish), garlic butter roasted carrots and Asiago baked onions (while they were good with the rest of the supper, I’m definitely doing this the next time I do a beast roast). Twas good and the only KP needed at this point is washing the plate and silverware.
I’ll find out tomorrow what’s going on at irk, but am leaving home for it for now.
When I was a kid, mom would make beef liver. Dad and sis had to put catsup on theirs, but I liked it the way it was. Since then, I think I made it once, decades ago. Otherwise, I’d had it a couple of times at diners and buffets. (NB: I do make deep-fried chicken livers.) Tonight I made liver & onions. Mrs. L.A. stopped eating it when she became a nurse and knew what livers do. She made me cook it outside.
Despite not really knowing what I was doing, it came out very well. Mrs. L.A. liked it.
I did get a Costco delivery via Instacart today, which included a bag of frozen spinach/cheese ravioli that come with a seasoned parmesan blend to put on them once cooked. Tasty things :). I am NOT heading into stores, between the “avoid crowds” advice and the fear of the plague-panic locust frenzy. Might have to set foot into something tomorrow (need plastic storage bins), but do not relish the prospect.
