Foods considered "low end" that you love.

Corned beef hash with an egg in it.

Ok, ok! also kielbasa.

To each their own, but for my money, the plain glazed are what its all about in KK-land. The microwave helps, to be sure; however, once you’ve had one that is only thirty seconds removed from their donut-making contraption, nothing else can ever compare…

Yes, and yes. Does keilbasa qualify as a low-end food? Whether it does or not, I agree that they are fantastic…

I prefer Tuna Helper myself. mmmmmm… cheesy goodness.

Seconding Circus Peanuts. Love 'em, but for the life of me I have no idea why. There’s something vaguely nauseating about the complete lack of correlation between color, texture, and taste, but I still eat the whole bag.

(Hell, if you tried to explain those to a Brit, would he even believe you?)

Almost anything with cheese- cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, that kind of stuff. I’ve actually managed to go a pretty long time with eating either of those, but fortunately/unfortunately I’ve found substitutes.

Casseroles made with cream-of-whatever soup.

Easy to make and tasty. Screw anyone who says that isn’t enough.

I’m another Hamburger Helper lover.

And Taco Bell.

Fried baloney. Not even “bologna.” Baloney.

Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pies. If I were sentenced for life to a facility that fed you nothing but, three times a day, I’m not sure I’d appeal.

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, or even the Publix version. It’s been my favorite food pretty much my whole life. My husband won’t eat it, so I get it like once a year now.

Circus peanut people, I am putting your names on a list and will hereafter be wary of you.

PEEPS! Peeps, Peeps, Peeps, Peeps, Peeps.

PEEPS!

Temptation food of the devil himself.

Your life sentence may be a short one.

Vienna sausages.

As well as most of the other delicious crap in this thread.

Hamburger Helper. I use beans rather than hamburger meat.

Kraft macaroni and cheese.

Totinos pizza.
Resers burritos- knowing full well just how much they hurt the following day, I still love them.
Icees/Freezies - basically frozen Kood-Aid in plastic.
Instant potatoes - the single serves with fake bacon. Fabulous at work on a cold day.
Stove Top Stuffing. Nom nom nom

We used to eat Hamburger Helper - now I can’t stand it. TheKid loves the Beef Stroganoff kind. It takes very little additional time to make it from scratch.

Are greens considered “low end”? If so, greens & beans would be my entry.

Tuna casserole… which absolutely must be made with the cheapest canned condensed soup and canned peas, and then topped with crushed soda crackers. It’s my favouritest comfort food, hands down.

I once tried making a gussied-up casserole using fresher ingredients (homemade white sauce, fresh peas, panko breadcrumbs), but it just wasn’t as tasty and comforting as its over-processed sodium-laden ancestor.

Like Collards?

No, I wouldn’t consider that “low end”. They take time and effort to prepare.

I confess my love of Velveeta.
