Foods you wish existed

If there’s a Culver’s in your neck of the woods you can probably get a blueberry shake there. I know they used to sell them, anyway.

Yes, I want human kibble. All the vitamins and substances needed, none of the emotion.

One of the dairies in Southern Ontario sells maple milk. You know: chocolate milk, strawberry milk, blueberry milk… maple milk.

Last night, I thought of al pastor pizza. Now I want it.

Jalapeno Soda. It would be something like ginger ale with a hint of jalapeno flavor (not necessarily the heat).

Use real actual stevia extract, unless you like it really sweet.
At “normal” levels of sweetness, there is no detectable off-taste. Too much and there is a faint bitterness under the sicky-sweet. I will note that I am a PTU non-taster, and not a super-taster.

I use it in coffee, tea, tisanes, and limeade, and detect no off-taste at all.

It’s a liquid, but you can find it in pocket-size bottles, or fill a dropper bottle from the big one if you’re thrifty.

It’s also natural product instead of being a chemical or chemically altered like Splenda.

Sweet taste is actually two taste receptors: most atrificial sweetners hit only one, that’s why they don’t taste “right”. I think stevia may activate both, but I’m not sure of that.

Years ago, I got some Mexican soda that was basically that. It was lemon-lime with serrano peppers. Spicy. but not real hot unless you drank it too fast. The brand name was “Crocodilo”

I liked it, and it cured a co-worker of “communal refrigerator piracy.” Eyewitnesses said the result was spectacular. Apparently he was sensitive to hot peppers and chugged about two thirds before it hit him.

You could probably make those. You can buy rosewater as a flavoring, then add it to a barley sugar or hard candy recipe.

The water content might be an issue for this.

Fixed it for ya. -.-

YES! OH pleaseohpleaseohplease…

Or anything that doesn’t taste like ass would be good.

IF you have a blender, you can make your own blueberry milkshake. It used to be that you could get one in season anywhere there was a farmers market with a dairy store. I can remember getting one in Yellow Springs Ohio one beautiful spring day while listening to Led Zeppelin 4 in 1982. I am pretty sure it was Young’s …

I can remember when ou kitchen was being remodeled [for 3 freaking months …] and all I had was a toaster oven, a single burner hotplate and a propane hibachi with rotissery. You can buy toaster oven sized baking stuff, I still have the cutest little toaster oven sized muffin tin:smiley:

Holy shit that sounds like a hell of an idea. I bet it would work with any homemade McNugget recipe!

Now that was pretty funny!

Goya brand ginger beer lists “capsicum” as an ingredient, but has little pepper flavor, just a bit of extra heat. It’s good by itself or with rum, and makes great apple dumplings. (Recipe here. Just use the ginger beer instead of Mountain Dew.)
