Does anyone know the lyrical origins of the song “Truckstop in La Grange” (also covered by Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash)? It mentions “driving down 71”, but by some cosmic coincidence there is both a La Grange off state highway 71 in Texas (the same made famous by ZZ Top) and a La Grange off of Interstate 71 in Kentucky. Where exactly is that little bitty truckstop in La Grange?
