Falcon, I posted there too, just now - check it out. Hope you don’t mind my taking your approach and running with it; I didn’t even know that was you, but I certainly agreed with what you said.
Also, I’ve been having more fun on the dating non-Christians thread. My advice is obvious to anyone that has a clue, but they’re so into doing things by the Book, or at least by their understanding of it, that they occasionally miss out on the experience of living. A postcard from Earth couldn’t hurt, I figure.

Falcon, I think if Thomas is like that IRL, he’s one of the least Christ-like “Christians” ever.
He’s a self-righteous, self-aggrandizing, holier-than-all-of-us, closed-minded, bigoted control freak who only hears the Word when it says what he wants it to.
It’s people like him who helped me leave the church.

Say what you will about Thomas, he does have some unintentionally funny quotes.
I’m surprised that Thomas has lived this long. On the original ‘Biblical errors’ thread, I had to directly call him on his manners, and he did apologize, after some of the others there seconded me. But he doesn’t appear to have learned anything from the experience.

What I can’t understand, over there, is how oblivious the others are to it. Nobody else said a damned thing about it, on the bib. errors thread, until I called him on it, and nobody’s saying anything now. And today was supposed to be a sunny day here in DC, too. (My office is actually in Suitland, but same difference.) Boy, did they call that one wrong.

Getting back to the thread, I’ve made my last post on the ‘Left Behind’ site. This morning, I was checking in to the ‘Is Looking at Porn a Sin?’ thread (David’s been there too), and they were jumping on the guy who started the discussion, saying (at length) that he must have a serious problem with porn.
I laid into them for their habit of turning their debates into personal attacks, and cited some of their other bad behaviors, before pointing out what a great witness they would be to any non-Christians stopping by.
But I’m outa there; I really have had enough. It’s been interesting, but there comes a point.
Besides, the rate at which they post is astonishing; they leave this board in the dust. Don’t these people have jobs, I kept wondering. (Especially since some of the active posters are well beyond their student years.) I can’t keep up, and feel like I’m doing my day job any justice, at the same time. And I rather like having an income.
