It refers to a website I found: www.jesus-is-lord.com that is one of the most hate-filled sites I’ve ever seen: anti-Catholic, anti-Mormon, anti-gay, anti-evolution… In short, anti- everything that makes the author uncomfortable.
Just see for yourself. And I have to say the Left Behind folks do know an asshole when they see one, even if they’re too polite to call him one.
Lib has a point, folks. We’ve more than adequately exposed the current bunch of Left Buttock denizens to some different ideas, and thoroughly affirmed that we might as well talk to a post. Now we’re just…I don’t know what, but it’s getting a bit pathological. Other than to keep Carma from taking credit for praying us away , why are we hanging around, really? David, is Thomas worth getting that worked up over? He’s just some snot-nosed kid who believes he knows it all, and is more obnoxious than most about it.
On another point, though, I doubt that they’re praying for us, Lib. Carma didn’t use the phrase ‘the enemy’ vacuously; I’m sure she and the others see us skeptics as the enemy, or as tools of the devil. To the extent that they see themselves as praying for us, I expect it’s in a ‘we know what’s best for those misguided sinners’ sense, where they pray for God to turn us into People Like Them. (Lord, if You love me, save me from that fate!)
Gaudere, you’re right about Matt. 7:6; I’ve sen it several times there. Don’t you love the way they use Scripture to insult people, and as a backhanded way of calling ungodly someone who disagrees with them?

Lib, I have no intention of posting on a board full of people who can’t tell “love” from “hate”. I believe that their reasoning runs along the line of:
1.God is Love.
2.We are Of God
3.Therefore anything We do to You is Love.
BTW, quoting Bible verses back at them would be useless. They would say something about the Devil using the Bible for his own purposes, and call me names, “lovingly”!
Hmmm…it’s almost 4am here (Central), and I just noticed that Stan A’s farewell thread is nowhere to be found. I went back 7 pages, and did multiple visual searches as well as string searches using the FIND feature.

Ironic that, in addition to it being Stan’s farewell, Admin was also slammed a bit for deleting controversial threads…and now–OOPS!–this thread’s missing too.
Maybe it’s server-related…but everything else seems to be right where we left it. The hyperlinks above also work properly, so I believe that the thread has been hidden instead of deleted.
I won’t be able to, so somebody look for it around 9 or 10 am. If the problem’s server-side, it should be fixed by then.
Slythe, thanks for reminding me of the Devil quoting scripture thing. I just used it against them in relation to social darwinism. You can still get Page Two of Stan A’s Farewell Address. Click on SoulFrost’s link “Thomas Must Die” on Page 11 of this thread. But you cannot get Page One. If you click on the little “1”, you get a Not Found page.
I’m not sure if this means it was deleted accidentally or not.
Jab, I’m sure it wasn’t an accident. They just probably didn’t think about the way to slip sideways into a thread like that. We here at the Straight Dope Message Board, however, have much more intelligent users who figured that out a while ago.
