There’s a writeup on them in our local alternative weekly.
I read that write up.
You know what’s funny? It’s BOXED in Tacoma, but the closest bricks and mortar place to obtain Bacon Salt is in Renton.
Some of us that live down here in Central and Southern Puget Sound DO NOT want to drive that far just for Bacon Salt.
Yes, I know we can order on-line, and I probably will, but it would just be so much nicer to pick it up at my local Safeway or Fred Meyer, or even Costco. Would that be so hard?
I am a short walk away from City Fish, and yet I still have not purchased my Bacon Salt. For shame on me.
In fact, I’d much rather walk down the hill and buy Bacon Salt, but I have homework. Boo.
Yee-haw! I’m going to Seattle next week and I can pick me up some Bacon Salt. For once there’s something you *can’t *find in New York (yet).
Best use I’ve found yet: buy white pizza with roast chicken and potatoes, liberally douse with olive oil and bacon salt.
That sounds fantastic – what time are you having us over?
You need to get your priorities in order. I mean, homework, where’s it gonna go, but they might gasp sell out of Bacon Salt!!! gasp Go buy Bacon Salt and have some on your favorite snack while doin’ homework. It’s all win-win that way.
Don’t just sit there! That Bacon Salt is not going to buy itself you know!
Well, there’s the unfortunate lack of ready cash as well.
However, when I am flush again, I will wander down and buy several 3-packs, so’s people can have a Very Bacony Christmas.
So, sell your text books. Gets rid of the homework problem and provides funds for important stuff like Bacon Salt.
Disclaimer…
The above post was in jest. I do not condone the selling of textbooks for Bacon Salt, even though Bacon Salt is the tastiest condimenty substance on Earth.
I didn’t see any of the three-packs at City Fish when I was there a few weeks ago (and no, I didn’t drive from Idaho to Seattle just for Bacon Salt, but it was just too good an opportunity to miss while I was there visiting famiy), but I didn’t ask about them either. The guy who helped me told me it’s hard to keep it in stock. I just got several of the original, and in about five minutes will be eating eggs and potatoes with it. Yummmmmm.
Bad news on the Michigan front: sales at the Meijer in Grand Rapids aren’t very good. If sales don’t pick up, Meijer stores nationwide won’t be carrying it.
I just bought a boatload o’ Bacon Salt at amazon.com, where they have it for $12.27 per 3-pack. It qualifies for Super Saver (free) shipping if you buy $25 worth.
Original flavor
Hickory flavor
Peppered flavor
Then you know what you must do. Take out a bank loan, get a second mortgage on your home, pawn your car title, hock a family heirloom, whatever it takes to get money so you can go to Meijer and buy mass quantities of Bacon Salt. Do it for the good of the Bacon Saltless masses everywhere!
I just received a response to an email I sent tonight to the bacon salt people - the individual shakers should be available on amazon by the end of this week.
Well, I sent Alistair McCello to buy me quite a few bottles. He was complaining on the phone that all told he would be spending about $100 on bacon salt.
Hey, you gotta get Christmas gifts! I’m getting my girlfriend some. She doesn’t like the stuff, but she can keep it in my kitchen if she wants.
I already got my stock. Hey, as the Captain said, Christmas is coming. I have stocktings to stuff for grown kids and gift baskets for an aunt and uncle that I don’t see most of the rest of the year.
I ordered it online on the main website. (Or wherever they recommended, if that’s not possible - hey, it’s been awhile. The bacon salt was my first Christmas purchase this year.)
I placed an order for ten bottles on 10/18 and it hasn’t been received yet. I sent off an email this morning and received a reply stating that they’d had a problem with orders shipped on the 19th. They are resending the order today.
A good product and good customer service to boot!
We don’t have it over here as yet but I’m well stocked up thanks to US dopers who sent me Bacon Salt in exchange for English chocolate
Isn’t there anywhere over here that stocks it, or something similar? You can order a sampler pack direct from baconsalt.com for $32.99, but that’s a bit pricey.
