For God’s sake, let me explain

Weight gain is a reasonably common side effect of some medications. I’m not one to quickly gain or lose weight but one medication I took helped put twenty pounds on me in a month and a half and as soon as I stopped it, it came off over the next three months. (It was Seroquel being primarily used in a lower dosage as an off-label sleep aid.) I didn’t feel like I was doing anything different consciously, but the medication did make me feel peckish all day. My doctor said my experience with this med was pretty normal.

Back to discussion of the traffic cone incident:

Surely we need to consider whether the “conee” at whom the cone was hurled bears part of the blame for incitement. Maybe he flipped the bird at the OP?

I think we’re getting to the bottom of this. He was clearly fending off a grizzly in Yellowstone.

He’s smarter than the average bear.

That’s the sort of thing that deserves a life sentence of hard labor, IMHO.

Do we know if the “conee” was a woman mom or a man mom?

What if it was a WOMAN MAN?

I have some sympathy for the OP’s troubles and hopes for the future. However, the part about “when human beings will be connected in such a way that they can experience each others lives in a manner unimaginable” gives me the creeps. Thanks to the Internet I feel far too interconnected with others as it is.

This is so very very true. You will be encouraged to note that a groundbreaking Chinese researcher (at times working with colleagues at Harvard) has discovered that external application of Qi energy not only destroys cancer cells, but makes it possible to go without food and water long-term without losing weight. No pills needed!

Toss an object onto a US Highway from an overpass. We had a rash of objects being dropped from overpasses onto cars going 60MPH.

There is something so beautiful about this bit. I don’t know why I find it so amusing. I can’t decide if it would be better to know the back story or to just leave it be.

Particularly antipsychotics, if the members of the work rehab program I’ve been in are any indication.

Yep, Seroquel, which I used off-label for a spell for sleep, is an antipsychotic.

Lithium, another antipsychotic, is well known for promoting weight gain via fluid retention.

Is lithium considered an antipsychotic? I’m reading that it’s not—it’s a mood stabilizer.

Sorry, my mistake. They’re both used to treat bipolar disorder so I should have said “mood stabilizers”.

Seroquel, though, is classified as an antipsychotic. I’m not versed enough in the technical differences between the terms, though.

That’s because it’s also used to treat schizophrenia.

Fun fact: The very first jazz album I ever listened to was Felonious Cone.

AFAIK, the US routes and Interstate highways are not federal property.
