Knowing the love of crapiosity some of you fellow reality buffs share, I am confident that I’m not the only doper who watched this.
I thought they did a great job last night of stretching 20 minutes worth of material into a two-hour show. Whoever wrote the scripts for the “reliving our relationship” meditations did a great job – they all sounded so spontaneous and sincere.
I hope they gave a hefty bonus to whichever studmuffin it was who mused, on cue, “For love or for money, there’s the rub.” Genius. Sheer genius.
And wow, the double twisteroonie at the end, where the winning stud does the protracted but grammatically way out there sentence making us think he was going to go for the money as we went into the final commerical.
“Oh, you!,” as Erin said – or should have.
Loved the fact that Erin (and damn that winsome peeking through the bit of bangs falling over her right eye just effin’ slays) offered whatshisface half of the second million – there’s a girl who knows how to take care of herself.
Now – let’s start the “Joe Millionaire II” countdown!
That woman did dumb. She should have taken her $1M from the first show.
First of all consider that second show prize of $2M is paid OVER 40 years (said so in the credits)! Or $50,000 per year. She can take a lump sum, I don’t know what that is, but I bet it’s under $1M.
As she took only 1.5M for herself she must be kicking herself now.
Handy, do you think they were going to give her a check for a million bucks? The first million was also payable over 40 years, so actually she did well to continue on this tiresome show.
I thought it was foolish that they did the “Reunion” show before the finale. When Wade came out and waved and had such a grim face I KNEW that she chose Chad.
I think it was pretty scripted what he said at the end and it was edited as such.
I thought that was a funny statement what Wade said “if I take the money it’s going to be Erin’s fault”
Somewhere along the line I missed it. I watched Entertainment Tonight last night and Erin and Chad were on. Apparently Erin had only given him HALF A MILLION. I was under the impression when she told Chad about the money that she was given him half of HER winnings which would be a million dollars.
People were joking with Erin on the street and told her she should have given him the million and she laughed and said her and Chad had talked about it and she was going to.
I don’t think they will get the kind of press that Trista and Ryan are receiving. Not quite sure why they are getting such publicity either.
Yeah, that was my point in my OP – that she was only giving him half of the second million. Heh.
Re: contractual no-no – you know there were long conversations between Erin and the producers prior to that. I leave it to you to speculate as to who’s idea it was that she split the money. Heh. The second million. Heh heh.
I don’t know why NBC couldn’t just give them an actual check for an actual $1 million (or $2 million, as it turned out). I think they can spare it, and it would have made a better show. As it stands now, everyone is just saying, “Yeah, but over 40 years and after taxes,” etc.
That woman should have taken that $1M from the first show & I know she thought that, too because I have seen interviews with her on tv & she stated that she thought so too.
If she marries the guy,if there is no prenup, he gets half anyway, so she comes out with $1M. After state & Fed taxes in Calif, she would get about $550,000 or about $1,100 per month for 40 years. Or sumthin like that.
