For the love of God, kill this thread!

The Neverending Thread

I am ashamed I ever posted to this monstrosity. What can I say, it seemed like a good idea at the time. (I am sure this is what they said at the Nuremburg trials.)

But really, how long is it going to go? It has certainly accomplished its goal of being a huge ass word association thread. Right now it’s just taking up space. I know you mods sometimes tell users not to have long sigs so as to not waste bandwidth and space- well I can’t think of a more colossal waste of bandwidth than this thread. And each post is really piling on now, as there are hundreds of previous words included in each new post.

Homer, I love ya man, but this one needs to be taken out back and shot. It’s like that headless chicken, it’s just its time to go.

It’s really not a problem, is it?
There’s no bandwidth issue, since only one page is shown at a time. I doubt anyone reads more than the first and last page, like any other multi-page thread.

It will die out when it’s no longer entertaining, after all.

Let me take the Show Business perspetive-
Why rush to close a good show?

Homer is probably justly proud. Give him his 15 minutes of fame. Way to go, Homer!

I’d be happy to close it, but since Homer’s the OP, he would have to at least agree. Of course, a quick e-mail by him will suffice. My address is below.

“This is the thread that never ends… it goes on and on my friends…”

This thread has destroyed two newsgroups that I used to post to. It got so big that it drowned everyone adding content out. Then people got tired of it. And when they did, no one was left to run a normal newsgroup.

It is Locutus of Borg.

Go’head and kill it, I don’t mind.

It was fun, and rather entertaining to see what people associate, but if the mods feel it’s ungainly, I have no problems with it’s death.

Consider it done.

Full speed ahead!

You’re a good guy Tim.

Perhaps the greatest tragedy here is that the last entry in the thread is “melbow”, which isn’t even a word. :stuck_out_tongue:

The New York Times Crossword Puzzle for Saturday had and answer of mastbow for the clue “colorful fog phenomenon”. I couldn’t find it in any dictionary I owned.

So, if that’s a word, maybe melbow is one as well.

What else would the Velvet Fog have in the middle of his arm?
