I’m of the opinion that a mandatory Vig is far more likely to hurt Town than help it, so getting that kill out of the way earlier is better than later.
It sounds like story had to make his mandatory kill TODAY (immediately after the death of his twin), and if that’s the case then he did the best he could. What a weird situation.
Is it just me, or was Inner Stickler’s last second one-off vote super, super scummy? It reads to me like a vote from somebody who doesn’t want to apply the coup-de-grace on a Townie but also doesn’t want to bring his teammate into a tie.
I don’t like it either. One-off votes like that are fine when there’s a clear, dominant train and you want to try to focus attention on someone else, but when there’s a close vote like this, it doesn’t make sense to not weigh in on one side or the other.
That said, I’m not sure it reflects poorly on Hardly Sanguine: First of all, a Scum might want to avoid accountability even if both vote-leaders are Town, and second, I’m not even sure that there are two Scum left in the game.
And on a completely separate note, is this the first Mafia game we’ve had with a werewolf on the Town team?
I wouldn’t use IS’s vote as evidence against Hardly either. But it Hardly were to flip scum, IS would definitely be my next vote.
Agreed under most circumstances, but scum or not, there’s a pro-town reason for not wanting to vote Hardly Sanguine:
He would have created a tie with only 20 minutes left in the game if he voted HardlySanguine. And it has not been said what happens in case of a tie. So if he preferred HS over Zeriel, he has a pro-town reason not to vote HS anyway, and there’s nothing he can do to save Zeriel at this point. However, he definitely should be held to explain for his one-off. Especially why he favored Zeriel as town over HS. Becuase there are both scum and town motivations for what he did.
Unless I’ve missed something, there’s no good reason for IS to have voted so late. IS based his vote on ShadowFacts’ reasoning from 2 days ago!
I will be out of town for about 6 days(Tuesday July 27 - Monday August 2).
Anyway, I should have access to the internet, but could use a co-mod during that time. Just in case I can’t get on the internet.
You’d need to keep a vote count and if I massively miss a deadline(end of Day/Night), start the game rolling.
Former players of this game are totally fine, but whomever does it obviously has to get spoiled.
Anyone wanna do it?
If no one else steps up I’ll do it, but I’d prefer to remain unspoiled.
I’ve just started reading this thread, and I must comment.
The incident you refer to in the Willow game was not a scum slip. It was an honest misunderstanding of the Giraffe board’s Mafia jargon. (I had never seen the term “VT” before and thought it must mean “Vigilante”. I still have to pause and think to figure out it means “Vanilla Town”.) I happened to be scum, but I would have made the same mistake no matter what my alignment was.
On retrospect, I should’ve realized the truth was incovenient and made up a believable lie. Oh well.
The thing is, how would the game, and everyone who has ever played Mafia with me react if I were to say yes to this?
Intriguing, but probably best for all if I pass.
Yeah I can co-mod, no big deal.
Cool. Red can co-mod while I’m on vacation to:
So… you’re the Wicked Witch of the West?
I’m glad someone went there. I wasn’t going to be the one to do it, but…
I thought peeker was the wicked witch of the west?
Peeker, I think, is the troll from Sorcerer Stone.
Red will have to be Voldemort, reborn as an impartial judge.
OK, so there’s something about a Golden Snitch? My guess, whoever holds the Snitch has the tiebreaking power. I’m not sure how it passes from player to player, though: Jimmy Chitwood implies that he had it at one point but doesn’t any more, and that he doesn’t know how it passes. This implies that it’s not passed by death, and it’s not passed by deliberate action of the wielder. Just random, perhaps?
Hey, I know the Days should be getting shorter, but I’m going out of town, so I want to leave this one a week in length.
Just pointing out I’m aware of it before the critiques come in.
Well, I think it was pretty scummy! I’m actually a little surprised to be here - I thought scum would leave me alive, as I am one of the more talkative Townies. I also had an inkling after Inner Stickler’s vote on me that scum were going to try to make a run at me toDay for my case against Zeriel, and IS was priming the pump, as it were.
But I was wrong. Not the first time, obviously
Fun game, though, despite the low participation.
