foreskin question

So I received a joke today and the punchline had to do with foreskin and circumcision.
My question is, What does become of the foreskin after a circumcision? Is there some sort of a ceremony done with it? Is it tossed in the garbage? Is it kept in a safe place till the boy’s bar mitzvah? and then given back to the boy?
Or as the joke summed up, they’re saved up and given to the IRS and they become little IRS auditor pricks.

i never got mine but havent missed it:)

Hotdogs!!!

The foreskin is buried after the bris.

(After hospital circumcisions, the foreskin is incinerated with the medical waste).

thanks Nametag.
In the back of my mind I was picturing some wierd rituals. too many B horror / sci fi films.

While touring Paris, my wife and I stopped in some little church (near the Pantheon, I think) that had a reliquary whose placard translated as containing the foreskin of Jesus. “Now, there’s foresight,” thought I.

Hmm, I’m positive that it was the foreskin that bowled us over, but some Googling gives slightly different info.

And here’s a fun page with lots more on the subject of Jesus’ foreskin.

I guess Jesus was really well hung, even at that early age. 12 foreskins! Who’d a thunk it. No wonder all the girls liked him.

so they don’t get bronzed?

After a bris (Jewish ritual circumcision), Jewish law requires that the foreskin must be buried. After my son waws circumsized, the mohel (professional circumsizer) offered it to me to bury (wrapped in some paper), but let him do it, which he told me is what most customers prefer.

Then there’s the old joke about the rabbi/mohel saving them up to make a wallet that expands to suitcase size when it’s rubbed.

IANJ–but I am circumcised, and I am pretty sure that mine ended up with all the other tissue removed in surgical procedures that occur every day and was probably burned in an incinerator.

So foreskin is the skin thats attached to the head of the peni? Or some other sort of skin thats covering over the head? Cause that’s basically what my Health Teacher said. Im quite confused. No one wants to explain it though!!! :frowning:

This is one of those things where I was impressed/grossed out/amazed all at the same time, but …

Some foreskins are used to make the artificial skin used to treat burn victims.

Article here: http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/9708/28/artifical.skin/

(Caution: contains journalistic, yet sad, photos of burn victims)

fauxpas, the foreskin is skin that covers the head of the penis. Many people have it removed at birth for either religious reasons (Jews, Muslims) or just for the sake of sanitation.

I think you’re thinking of the forehead.

Oh, I get it now…thanks! So what would be better: a circumcised person or uncircumsized? I mean as in more potency.

Don’t know, never got to the chance to try my forskin out.

Oh, God, NOT AGAIN!!!

I think that’s why he’s called “fauxpas”!

before I posted my question, I did a search of the SD archive here in GQ. there are several good reads.

Ya can’t miss what ya haven’t got, I always say, but I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that its better being circumcised because my Dad went under the knife near the beginning of his 3rd marriage, he was in his 50’s. I guess my stepmom liked to…AAAGGGGGHHHHHHHH. sorry, I just don’t want to think about this anymore.

About a year before you became a member, my friend, we had a person where who, to quote a friend, not only “had issues – he had a lifetime subscription!” – on the subject of circumcision and the alleged loss of sexual pleasure resulting from it as opposed to that felt by a man who had not been circumcized (or something similar to that; like most people, I had trouble wading through his arguments). If you’re really interested, do a search on the poster name Jack Dean Tyler .
