I’ve been staying off the “GAAAAH HILLARY DIEEE!” bandwagon, but I have to give you a round of applause for that one.
Check valve. We are going to have a GD thread on the Democratic campaigns for the nomination. We may as well use the one that’s already open. (I would tend to agree that it has picked up a lot of posts, recently, that are not really debating anything and if it continues it will probably be closed.)
Originally 3, like 2 and 1, was actually a discussion among people who disagreed with each other regarding the nominating process. 4 started out as a little cheering thread that made no actual point to debate and got hustled over to MPSIMS. This thread started out as a rant and continued along that line, still with no debate.
I understand your reasoning, thank you.

And further, if any Democratic politician were to be nominated to the Supreme Court, can you imagine one LESS likely to be approved than Hillary Clinton?
Joe Lieberman (although the Senate might just do it to get his ass out of the seat) and Dennis Kucinich. There’s two.

(“Tsk. Anderson, you’re not my boo.”)
I was watching this last night, and while I found it extremely amusing (Anderson: “But I want to be your boo.”), I have no idea what it meant. Could someone explain?

You’re probably right, but Lieberman would get some bipartisan support, at least. Hillary would get pitchforks and torches.

“boo” = “beau” - boyfriend, because he was asking her for intimate tidbits of her conversation with Obama, and she basically was saying “You and I are not that close” in a joking way.
I just wanted to add that one thing that this whole brouhaha has given me is an awareness of Donna Brazile, who I’m finding that I absolutely LOVE! If I weren’t so lazy, I’d actively campaign for her to be the next DNC chair…
I found the video I was talking about. Go to Video News - CNN and search for “bill clinton last stand.” The title of the video is “Bill Clinton’s Last Stand?” and the comment is a little over halfway through.
Bill Clinton:
“In Michigan, I don’t know what they did. It didn’t make a lick of sense to me. They said we’re not only gonna give Senator Obama these delegates equivalent to 100% of the uncommitted votes, although some of those votes were for John Edwards and others, we’re gonna give him some more just to shut everybody up.”
Not as bad as I thought I heard–I thought he was implying the Obama campaign was being “shut up.” Although, I can still read it that way. It’s an obnoxious reaction from the side that was pushing this in the first place, though.
Hillary is acting like a rogue android who is two minutes away from dangling babies over the balcony Jacko style.
Wheres a Blade Runner when you need one?

Maybe, since she knows how to use a shotgun, we could send her hunting with Dick Cheney.

It sort of requires some judicial experience to be a serious possibility.
No, mostly it requires a veto-proof majority for the dems.

Win win.
I’ve never liked Hillary, but I never thought she was crazy until last night. It’s as if the Patriots stayed on the field after they lost to the giants, insisting that there was still more football to be played, and refusing to move until they were paid or given the title of co-super bowl champions because they had more fans in the stands if you include the fans at home and not counting the skyboxes.
The media is nearly as bad, treating this as if it’s somehow not complete fucking lunacy. Obama won, and they’re talking about what concessions he should give to her to prevent her from taking her supporters and going home. It’s unreal.
I don’t know what media you’re looking at, but MSNBC is painting her as quite the nutter.

I love this analogy.
I’ve got to say, I think CNN is dealing with it reasonably. I haven’t checked other sources, though. (Maybe I’m lucky and have just avoided it the pandering.) They were being especially blunt last night. I mean, I never thought I’d hear the words “deranged narcissism” come out of an anchor’s mouth on CNN, but we did last night, and rewound the DVR a couple times just to let the magical glow wash over us again. They were talking about how she could have taken the opportunity to make a graceful exit, but she didn’t. They’re also reporting that there’s a debate about whether her pressuring Obama hurts her chances, whether this “dream ticket” stuff is a good idea, and whether she’s damaging the Dem’s chances in November. They’re also showing clips of Clinton supporters who are disappointed by her behavior. Seems to me they’re dealing with it reasonably.
I’ve been watching MSNBC and they seem to be the opposite…so far. I think Dan Abrams was like, “what’s the big deal? and they should run together”. Morning Joe was pretty much the same.
I don’t know if they don’t get it or just like the show.
I’m waiting to see what Obermann has to say tonight.
Morning Joe, yes, but as the day wore on, they gathered their wits about them. Andrea Mitchell (surprisingly) seems especially pissed at Hillary.

Today Show this morning. I know. Not the best choice for intelligent discussion except when it comes to Matt Lauers global location (I think they may have an inside source though), but it was what was available. I’m slightly relieved to hear that things have changed.

Some trivia: the 30 Rock green screen soundstages where Matt Lauer’s international locations are shot are the same ones that the first two moon landings, the Viking Mars landing, and the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald were filmed.
The only reason she isn’t going to run as an independant is because there isn’t enough time to register(I hope).
It wouldn’t surprise me at all to hear that she wants to go into the general election and try it over again. Ya know, have a do-over in all 50 states.
She also clearly doesn’t have the funds to mount an independent campaign. I’m guessing that a large part of dragging this out was to fund-raise to pay herself back for the loans to the campaign.
I’m fully expecting a Zoolander move at the inaguration; as they introduce Hansel…er, the new Prez, she’s running up to the podium clutching her Rove-approved electoral maps.
