Well, this is interesting. I was browsing around the internet harmlessly, when, completely by accident (really), I came across this site. (Warning: Pop-up ads ahead. Also, this is not to the main page, but to the first forum, amusingly called “The Truth.”)
Right, so basically, this is a specifically anti- catholic site, and while amusing in a masochistic sort of way, I was of the opinion that we could stage an invason of sorts, populated by Catholics, lapsed Catholics who wants to see the church called to task for things it actually did/is, rather than, say the “whore of Babylon” thing, Fellow Christians who wish to defend their Brothers in Faith®, others who are interested in educating the ignorant, and people who wish to see the bloodbath.
I have already joined the ranks of those valiant souls who are now fighting in the proverbial trenches, and I am cofident that victory will be attained, that truth will defeat stupid-heads.
First one to mention the name of the Straight Dope Message Boards on that site can stay there for good, if you know what I mean.
As you were. We don’t need another board war (hint: “Left Behind”), and whilst we can’t stop individuals from signing up elsewhere, we do ask them not to present themself as a representative of the SDMB. All it brings is trouble.
Actually, I have not mentioned the SDMB there, nor do I intend. While it is nice to go to their boards for a “board war,” so to speak, I tend to dislike it when they come here to this haven and well, make a nuisance. I was merely suggesting that some of us could go and “fight” these people, for fun, and for maybe one or two (not really for me though) of us, a sense of duty.
Ergo, I apologize if my post was suggesting inappropriate action, and if what I suggested would be harmful to the board. I happen to enjoy arguing with these sorts of people, and I was merely addressing those people (whoever they may be) who share my interest, that we may have a bit of fun.
When did Catholics stop being for Christ? I don’t get it.
Is the FCFC board for people who used to be Catholics, but still want to be Christians, or do they think Catholics are not Christians?
I’m just curious, don’t worry Coldfire, I don’t want to get involved. I get slapped down about religion here, I can’t imagine what the people at this FCFC board would think of me. Well, maybe I can imagine it. Not good. Definately not good.

While I am Catholic, I will not be part of an “invasion” of any other boards. I am more than willing to give my point of view to anyone who tries to convince me that I am not Christian because I am Catholic, but to pile onto someone just because they believe differently than me? That’s no longer my style. Plus, I’ve learned that these arguements are generally useless and (particularly online) only serve to get my temper up.
However, I came to these boards as part of the last “board war”, as coldfire put it so well. I wasn’t here to be an invader from those other boards, but because I was curious about what was so bad here. I stayed here and don’t go there at all anymore.
