Super Bowl? What’s that?
I think there are two reasons:
a. His father used it.
b. In German usage, writing Sch… is the equivalent of writing sh**. I would not want to race as SCH, if it was me.
Ah, that’s something I hadn’t realized. So probably why Michael was always MSC even before Ralf joined the series.
Thanks for that insight.
Perfect race. Ferrari 1-2! Looking forward to a season-long “Carlos and Charlie” show.
The cars are ugly*. That is all.
*Except the Ferrari. There are no ugly Ferraris.
I think the Ferraris do look particularly nice, that darker red suits it in this configuration.
I also think the Williams blue is very striking indeed. That is a purposeful looking car, shame it doesn’t quite have the performance to match at the moment.
Saudi Arabian GP about to start, with Sergio Perez on pole. Have Red Bull solved their fuel delivery problems? Will Ferrari go P1/P2 again? What about Mercedes? Let’s go!
Lap 7/50: Alonso and Ocon really fighting hard with each other. I keep thinking those pink cars are Force India and am transported back to five years ago.
Lap 16/50: Latifi in the wall. Safety car out. Leclerc pits, after Perez pitted before the accident. Most unfortunate.
Lap 25/50: How is Hamilton so fast on such old tires?
Lap 37/50: Alonso in trouble. Ricciardo in trouble; stopped on track. Bottas retired. Maybe it’s time for Hamilton to pit? Ah crap – Alonso stopped in the pit lane. WTF is going on?
The wrong guy won, but a great fucking race!
Also, I can’t help but notice that Latifi boned Hamilton again.
Yeah, that was a good race. But, damn! Max is a whiney bastard!
So I originally didn’t intend to do live commentary, but the race just kept getting crazier and crazier. Then Discourse put the kibosh on everything. Apparently, you can’t do more than four replies in quick succession. This is what I intended to post before Discourse said, “NAH-AH!”
Lap 41/50: Green flag – Hamilton finally pits.
I didn’t even get to say anything about those crazy final laps. Next time, if there is one, I’ll put all my commentary in a single post.
Or rather he’s the one that Sky focused on with their audio.
Max whines because he’s been affected by the culture at Red Bull - which is very much one of being the small team team up against the big boys, upsetting the establishment and having to fight its own corner against the odds. There might have been some truth in that once but it’s not true now. They are one of the big boys.
Before the final GP last season, we got the unedifying sight of Max Vertsappen telling an interviewer, with a straight face, that he’s “had a difficult life so far”. He genuinely thinks he’s a victim.
And Vegas is confirmed. This is going to be epic.
Not more than three weeks ago, i swore id never go back to vegas…or at least the strip…when it’s closed off. At that time it was closed for the marathon. But fuckin 'ell, ill eat those words to see F1 tearing down the strip at over 200mph!
Again? The last time didn’t go so well.
As much as I’d love to go to Vegas to see F1, I have already determined that I can’t afford to go see ANY F1 race.
I’ll probably go see a couple Indycar races this summer, though.
Completely different course. From everything I’ve read, the last round was literally a parking lot. This course runs down the Strip for 1.8 MILES. Those cars are going to be FLYING (projected speeds of 210+ mph).
I’ll probably look at tickets shortly before dying of a heart attack, but it could be fun to ride down, watch maniacs do their best to not-quite-kill themselves, and ride back. Hell, I could even get the Iron Butt out of the way.
